Guilty...

But I like 1 John 2:2  He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.

Maybe they might  plead "Not Guilty"

Of course that is taking a word a word from a person and written down inspired by the Holy Spirit [which we call the biible]

Im is givng a typical "sunday school" response.. to verses like  1 John 2:1-2

It depends who you are standing in front of apart from the Jury and onlookers - you also have the defense  and prosecutor ..

In life and apart from that scripture "many may plead guilty or feel guilty"  even though they know Jesus calls them "not guilty"

Meanwhie in the  "world"  [depending on how your interpret that word]  many may "plead" not guilty  - it is this very response that sends them to prison -  in the end whatever we plead - it is not up to us - but up to the Judge and Jury.

haha I like your titles and your apparent abscence in response

Or to respond in a simple way "many who are God's may say "Not Guilty" due to their defence and others "Guilty" as they see Jesus as their defence lawyer - but the metahor goes much deeper than that - as the spiritual is not like the natural/physical,  I may have areas of my life that have not yett opened up to God - so here I may continue to feel guilty about wrongs done to me - in which I blame myself  [although the Judge has aready pronounced me not guilty and has thrown down the gavel - I may continue to live my life unaware of  it.

How you respond and what you know - has no significance in the Kingdom.

Sorry I think I have ruined your good topic .

Daaa - okay I remain silent and say "no comment" I WANT A LAWYER...
