How can I be born again from my will ?
You can't.

If you believe you can, then prove it.
Disturb us Lord, when we are too pleased with ourselves. When our dreams have come true because we dreamed too little. When we arrived safely because we sailed too close to the shore. Disturb us Lord, to dare more boldly. To venture on wider seas. Where storms will show your mastery; Where, losing sight of land, we shall find the stars. We ask you to push back the horizons of our hopes; And to push into the future, in strength, courage, hope and love.                     (SIR FRANCIS DRAKE 1577)

Hi Frances
Why not if I turn to God of my own free will then its by my will and Christ will accept me and in so doing I become born again and become part of his resurrected body.

Love and peace
Dave

I could pretend I set a trap -so you would give the right answer Dave.

But sadly, in my hurry I misread the OP.
I could have sworn it said "against my will", it was the words "born again" that threw me.
Go on Dave, say it............Francis Drake is an idiot.

So yes, you are right again Dave and I agree with you. I could delete my last post, but will leave it for post...erity.

I am not really sure about this.

I mean the babies of Mary and Elizabeth responded in the womb . [ having no knowledge of scripture or will [in that they could not decide/ being that they were still developing a will/repsonse]

Does it really come down to a salvation prayer or a response of my will ?

I cannot help think of babies leaving life without a choice or of those in prison - as in : Matthew 25:36

It would seem that God/Jesus/associiates Himself wth sinners.

In my experience [ not that experience - is confirmation of being God's]

God can speak to a child as He did to me [I acknowledge that I only began to understand His voice - once I was saved and having looked back over my life]

However if I had died as a boy - then would I now be fated or destined to eternal life without God ?

Is it deendent  on my will or descison - maybe I am now non and viod, including those who are born incapable of living a normal life or thinking as you and me do.

I am not sure that my will has anything to do with it [but then I may be wrong] and children/infants/those not having a capasiity  to understand and  growing /developing will/ may well decide their destiny.

Think for a moment if a child like that in Luke 1:41   is this child was not born [ths would have changed biblical biblical history - but it is something to think about.

If I am born brain damaged and starved of oxygen -was that God's will, that I had no response to be saved ?

My theology now condemns, instead  of visiting those in prison. [in this I now condemn myself - according to my theology]

I think if I were born unable to speak or hear - then we mihgt seak more about my response - but if I am unable to respond... then only God would know the heart and in this "I might be a baby within a womb leaping because I have seen another like me"

Whether an unborn baby has a will is another topic - but I believe the will develops through life.

I don't know, do the unborn have a will ?

Expanding this further, there are some who only begin to realise themselves and who they are in their teen years.

There may be many who have commited their lives to Christ in their childhood only to walk away from it later on.

They may spend the rest of their lives denying God.

I see many children giving thier lives to Christ - only to leave once they have developed their will's.

Who decides ? [at the end of their lives]

We are using our adult and developed years to decide their fate. [On behalf of God]

I mean once you realise who you are ....  God already knew who you were....

The question boils down to:- Is it man who decides who is saved or is it God.

What causes an enemy of God to become his willing slave?

I do not believe tht this happens just because a man, who hates God, decides to love God.
