Neither, Jesus willingly gave up his life for us.

Both.
Men did it, but God intended it to happen. Acts 4:27,28
"God has saved us and called us to a holy life - not because of anything we have done but because of His own purpose and grace." (II Timothy 1:9)

Who killed Jesus - was it man or God..

* Reading what John and Deborah have written, I think of Hebrews 10:5-10, quoted from Psalm 40:6-8. 'a body hast thou prepared me.'

* God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself - by becoming a living sacrifice.  Only He could do it, for only He was without sin. Yes, it was the will of God that His life be offered that He may take it again.

'Therefore doth my Father love me,
because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.
No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself.
I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again.
This commandment have I received of my Father.

(Joh 10:17,18)

Praise His Holy Name!

In Christ Jesus

Hi
Of course it was all part of Gods plan of creation which we are told about in Genesis Adam was put to sleep and Eve was created from his rib.
Christ is the last Adam when he died on the cross the roman soldier thrust his spear into his side and out came the water and the blood from these his Eve is created the church this happened while he slept in the tomb as did the first Adam.

Gen 2:21  And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;

So it's all part of Gods plan he used the priests and the romans to further his plan and we need to be eternally grateful  to him for without his sacrifice we would be eternally lost without hope.

Love and Peace
Dave
