If they are, why do they only affect countries located in hurricane zones? Just like major earthquakes only occur in earthquake zones.
"God has saved us and called us to a holy life - not because of anything we have done but because of His own purpose and grace." (II Timothy 1:9)

No, its a result of the fallen world we live in. The increase in the sea temperature this year, has produced more severe hurricanes recently, during the hurricane season.

Yet also the natural disasters increase in frequency and intensity, as godlessness increases in frequency and intensity. Fulfilling what Jesus foretold: Matthew 24:7; Luke 21:25-26

That is because the protection from the Holy Spirit is quenched.
For the Holy Spirit had a major role in creating the world, alongside the Father and the Word of God. Genesis 1:2. He was hovering over the face of the water.

I can only surmise from this, that the Holy Spirit is needed to regulate the natural elements of the world as fallen as it is.Psalm 78:26 Psalm 107:29
He has the command over the natural elements.

Yet when He is quenched that protection is weakened but in parts of the world that are already prone to natural disasters. Not because of judgement to them.

With this though  God doesn't want any to perish but for all to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9

Many are expressing faith that they already have.
"The winds are merciless! We shall survive by the grace of God! "Mr Skerrit announced early on Monday evening.
Many too are praying to God in ways they didnt  before. Even if they claimed to be an unbeliever.
Many as well remain not turning to God.

I totaly agree Rose Anna,
"No, its a result of the fallen world we live in."

Through out the bible when God determined to punish a nation he always gave a warning via a series of prophetic messages.

It seems this year and this month in fact they are very much on the increase in frequency and intensity.
It seems that way through looking at the historical records but previous years had bad years as well.

'From whence come wars and fightings among you?
come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?
Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain:
ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.'

(Jamess 4:1-2)

Hello @Rose Anna,

In Matthew 24:6-8, our Lord gives comfort and reassurance by informing His disciples of what was to be expected in that period called, 'the beginning of sorrows', characterised by war, famine, disease and earthquake. Telling them of them was intended to prevent both alarm and the possibility of deception. Being forewarned they were forearmed against either of these possibilities, weren't they? As are we, too.

We know that geological and climatic change will take place leading up to our Lord's return, so we need not be alarmed by them or be deceived by false predictions and claims.  War brings disease and famine, and we are witnessing it in the news from war torn areas of the world today.  It has always been so, hasn't it?

Praise God!

(Just thoughts)
In Christ Jesus
Cariad

A girl was on holiday with her family in Thailand, december 26th 2004.
She recognised something unusual in the sea and initially nobody listened to her, about a tsunami about to come.
She became hysterical and her Dad did listen and told the security guard regarding the concern. Who evacuated the people on the beach.
They went back to the hotel and by the time they were safe, the wave came and it was the tsunami that would have wiped out all the people on the beach, if it wasn't for the ten year old girl's intervention.
She saved her familys life, as well as about 100 people on the beach.
That was thanks to the geography teacher two weeks back, who educated the children to recognise the sea before a tsunami comes.
It makes me wonder if the teacher was particularly tuned into God in any strange way , which led to that particular protection, in considering it was only two weeks before it happened.
Though of course many died in that tsunami and nothing to do with judgement  but part of the fallen world. As a consequence of the weakening of protection in an ever increasing fallen world, affecting the just and unjust alike.

What about the past? The flood. Sodom and Gomorrah. Many other past judgements were many were killed of placed into slavery.
Look what God has said about the future judgements to come. Daniel. Revelation. Think God only judges in the past and in the future? Look at history. God has destroyed whole nations. God has raised others. Why? Because He is God and He searches hearts and minds.
