We don't need to rely on our feelings but on the sure and steadfast love of God. There may be times when we are very aware of his presence and times when we are not aware or fail to feel moved by the presence of God. But that should not discourage us. We will see sunny days and cloudy days but we know the sun is there even when we can't see it or feel its warmth. In the same way we know God is always there and that his great love and provision remains for all eternity.

To put it another way.
There are times when we feel proud to be nglish, times when emotions make us proud, or sad and even ashamed.
Yet these feelings have nothing to do with our being cityzens. That is a legal fact.

In the same way we have been saved by Jesus's extravagant love for us. That is a fact one that does not change because we are sad or depressed or not feeling God's presence.
