Hebrews 11 is an example of how christians of all time , both of old and new testament had a relationship with God and through faith.
Agreed, although my use of the word Christian for Moses in the OP was a little tongue in cheek. He was a Christian in that he walked and lived under the anointing of the Holy Spirit, which is what "Christos" means.
Quote
Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Hebrews 11:3
By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.
Although God's people did not have the teachings of grace under the new testament as we have, they expressed it in a different way. Just two examples:

Through the Lords mercies we are not consumed,
Because His compassions fail not.
They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.
Lamentations 3:22-23

Notice " they are new every morning."

David also expressed grace in a different way through: Psalm106

[/b]

Christians forget that despite us reading it in a book we call the New Testament, Jesus's prime ministry was still in the Old Testament period.
The various apostles, disciples, and other listeners, written into the four gospels also didn't live in the New Testament, but were born and lived through the OT.

Thus all Jesus's teaching was aimed at the OT mindsets of the people at that time.

Here's Jesus announcing the New Covenant.-
Matt26v28for this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for forgiveness of sins.
Disturb us Lord, when we are too pleased with ourselves. When our dreams have come true because we dreamed too little. When we arrived safely because we sailed too close to the shore. Disturb us Lord, to dare more boldly. To venture on wider seas. Where storms will show your mastery; Where, losing sight of land, we shall find the stars. We ask you to push back the horizons of our hopes; And to push into the future, in strength, courage, hope and love.                     (SIR FRANCIS DRAKE 1577)

Hi
Just a few random thought's to be a Christian do we not have to be reborn into the body of Christ through the baptism of water and fire.

Of course Israel went through two baptisms one through the Red sea this is when the nation was born.
The second baptism was when through the Jorden of course this was the younger generation all those who came out of Egypt died in the wilderness except two.

This was Israel's rebirth as a nation but Moses was not part of that rebirth.

So the question remain was Moses a Christian I think the answer has to be no because nowhere in scripture can I find that Moses was reborn into the body of Christ.

Having said that I do believe that Mose's and all the men of faith chosen by Christ will be with him at the resurrection and sit in Judgement with him.

I think you forget Dave, that we Gentiles have been grafted into the same tree that faithful Israelites like Moses were always grafted into, and that tree is Christ.

:) I know lol. I feel awkward about what term to use sometimes and that was the opportunity to use the word "christian

"Christian" is a very abused word, and not all Christians are Christian, just as Paul describes the word "Israel".

Rom9v6But it is not as though the word of God has failed. For they are not all Israel who are of Israel;
7nor are they all children because they are Abraham?s descendants, but: ?THROUGH ISAAC YOUR DESCENDANTS WILL BE NAMED.?
8That is, it is not the children of the flesh who are children of God, but the children of the promise are regarded as descendants.

So with Israel or with Christians, it is those who are of faith who are counted, not those who go through the motions merely in the flesh.

Never mind the argument being mooted by some that the patriarchs can't be Christian, the fact is that we have trusted in the same God they placed their trust in.
He is the God of Abraham Isaac and Israel and we are grafted into faithful Israel who is grafted into the Olive Tree which is Christ..

Moses also led a group of people through their lives and they followed him.

Although he was the husband of more than one wfe and  he did murder someone.

Some would see this as  the early Church...

What someone was before becoming a Christian should not affect how we relate to them.
Sadly this is not always the case.
We all need to remember that we do not deserve Gods mercy and grace. That there is not a requirement to be of a certain social class with certain moral standards.

Murders, rapists, polygamists. etc are coming to know Jesus, as are poor people, better off people and even the 'upper classes'

Jesus chall;enged us to make right judgements and to remember that how we judge others could be how we are judged.

I'm not sure how this connects with the thread @John?

Hi Frances you said

No Frances I have not forgot when Israel accepts Christ they will be grafted back into there own tree which as you say is Christ.
So Jews and Christians will all be in the tree of life which is Christ Jesus our Lord then all Israel will be saved then Christ will hand everything back to God the Father and God will be all in all what a wonderful future we have.

Are you saying we should not be judging Moses or anyone else for that matter to weather they are Christians or not its not our place we can leave that to our righteous judge.
If this is so then I agree with you and thank you for pointing it out jest goes to show how easy it is to get carried away and start judging people.

Love and Peace
