Hi Abel,
"I think membership into the body of Christ has nothing to do with man and their churches, which most of the larger ones are nothing more than Religious Prostitutes(seeking money and power in GOD's name) it's a calling by GOD himself. I think people should start to have assemblies in their homes and rented places if needed for large assemblies, not going out buying expensive buildings and the maintenance of them. The money could be used as GOD intended example ; for orphans, widows & the poor and needy. Most churches I've passed are always closed or are more like a community centre nothing Godly apart from worship for about 3 hours per week if that."
It's strange that every community of Christians I've been involved with has struggled to provide a place they could use as they wanted to.

Those who have hired halls have found that they could not always get the hall when they wanted, that facilities were not always as good as they would have liked and that advertising services even among church members was difficult.

The missionary organisations I follow all report that Christians in third world countries really struggle to build a place where they can worship.

I think one of the main reasons that a building is aquired is simple identity. That is where we meat for worship, that is where the community knows the Christians are.

My church has membership, but anyone is welcome to our Sunday services. Before becoming a member one has to go to a 'Foundations Course', where the beliefs of our church are taught. This I believe is essential so that applicants can see where the church is coming from, so we have unity. My church is an Evangelical Free Church, in association with New Frontiers. Being a member entitles me to participate in the activities of the church, and to hold office in those groups, such as children's work, worship band. We do have a large building which God has graciously given us, it is full for our Sunday services, and is used extensively during the week for many activities, both church activities and secular groups.

'So we, being many, are one body in Christ,
and every one members one of another.'

(Rom 12:5)

'Wherefore putting away lying,
speak every man truth with his neighbour:
for we are members one of another.'

(Eph 4:25)

* We have put away, 'lying', and now we can speak 'Truth' to one another, in Christ Jesus. What a wonderful position to be in!  Members one of another! We need no earthly membership, no creed, or symbol, for we have the reality: we are part of what is heavenly; we are, 'in Christ'

Praise God!

The membership pass is the light you shine on the world when walking in the spirit.

The membership pass is the light you shine on the world when walking in the spirit.

Paul was a member of the pharisees and a killer  - so what made him a member of the Church - when he killed those who were God,s /the Church ?  Acts 8:3 and Galatians 1:13

How many people did Paul destroy before he began to build and who changed Paul  and built unity.

I would suggest that God shone the Light on Paul on the road to damascus.  Acts 22:6

How do you respond to this @David St Ives

You have to lose your life to gain your life. When you are walking in the spirit it shines from you. Who and why the father chooses certain people is not for us to know. People often try and fail to reason with scripture. If you accept the truth, live in accordance with the words of Christ, receive and live with the love of God, you will start to shine. The scriptures provide both a narrative and practical guidance to living.
Paul, like many, failed in his judgement many times, he will suffer for that. Focus on the present times, focus on yourself, focus on the challenge of bearing your cross daily, focus on removing the speck from your own eye, focus on living in the spirit, focus on being of pure mind and heart, focus walking with the lord in the present and being in tune with the direction the spirit wants your life to take.

When you walk into a room with others they will see you shine if you are living this way. Through your body they will know christ
