I was considering joining the Christian Party but I can't agree on an aspect of what they stand for which is not a biblical aspect, but none the less, plays a big role on their concept of politics compared to mine. The actual aspect I differ on, Donald Trump was spot on to expose! (I don't live in the USA so I didn't vote either way... The aspect also has nothing to do with immigration!)

You are only a slave to sin. If you live with the Lord in you then you are free. Expect to be persecuted but follow the teachings for they are the truth, nothing else matters

Simple, we life in a capitalist society, Cambodia tried and like so many others failed to make a socalist utopia.

The only true protection of freedom is a radicle Christianity that challenges the false ideas held by society.

As I've said before it was Christianity that gave us freedom under the law of the land.

It will be Christianity that challenges the incursions of atheistic ideas about law etc.
Ah, thanks John. That was good to read.

According to Churchill, ?Democracy is the worst form of government, except for all the others.?

Democracy is the best demonstration of freedom that a nation can express, and the form of government nearest to the principles of scripture.
God gave Adam freewill. Personal freewill must always be mitigated by the freewill of others.
ie. My freedom to drive at 120mph through the town centre must be curtailed because it restricts the freedom of other citizens.
Thus freedom has certain limits. That's why Jesus said, "Do unto others as you would have them do to you."

Capitalism enables people to prosper from their own hands. That prosperity then enables them to be charitable towards others less fortunate.

Socialism and communism empowers government to take that prosperity by force and give it to people of their own choosing. It doesn't take long before politicians learn that they can stay in power if they promise one sector of society they they can have the wealth of another sector.

Disturb us Lord, when we are too pleased with ourselves. When our dreams have come true because we dreamed too little. When we arrived safely because we sailed too close to the shore. Disturb us Lord, to dare more boldly. To venture on wider seas. Where storms will show your mastery; Where, losing sight of land, we shall find the stars. We ask you to push back the horizons of our hopes; And to push into the future, in strength, courage, hope and love.                     (SIR FRANCIS DRAKE 1577)

As always Frances we are headbutting over details.

I agree with you 100% except your statement that democracy is the best demonstration of freedometc

You are right in what you say, it is what you don't say where you are in error.
Democracy without a substantial Christian culture is merely another form of dictatorship, open to the abuse of power. It is the underlying Christian sub culture that enables democracy to work.

Look at America, a great nation, that is far down the post Christian road, see how they protest like spoilt children because their candidate didn't win.

David is right in his post, We are to live for Jesus in every area of our lives no matter what the cost and to accept that his will mean perscution or revival!
