God gave humankind a glory. Not to become a god but a glory in humility and in His creation. Hebrews 2:6-9

He created us and did a better thing still. He made creation to partake in His glory. That is part and parcel of the free will we are given and flexibility to chose or reject Him.
He made creation interactive with Him and not passive robots.
This gives Him joy and us joy. As we are active in partaking in creation. Both in the earthly realm and the heavenly realm.

Both by flesh and blood, and by our spirit in union with the Spirit of God.

In the heavenly realm -His strength is complete in our weakness, in the Life of the Spirit of Christ. The treasure in the jars of clay. The surpassing power that belongs to Him 2 Corinthians 4:7

In the earthly realm, we can procreate, build, cook, sing, make things , discover amazing things as part of our earthly glory. Only this has been abused by humankind, who exclude God. They are puffed up with pride and glorify themselves above God. They do not partake in the humble way with Him, and are not pinpointing that it is from Him and His surpassing power.

Yet He made creation more interesting, as they are partaking and interactive. Only the sad thing is that they chose the darkness over the light. They exalt themselves above God and enable what falls short of His glory.
The darkness is a byproduct of freewill. God didn't create darkness. Yet it came about because He gave free will.
As said He gave free will to give and receive more joy and freedom in creation. Sadly its been abused.
The glory of the flesh is fallen and hostile to Him. Yet a life in the Spirit is a blessing. Romans 8:6-17

From selfish to selfless
From fear to complete love
From ourselves to others

The nature and deeds of the flesh are selfish. Some of the motives are also selfish. Yet if our heart is in union with God, then our heart is where our treasure is.Matthew 6:21

I'm aware of my own selfishness.
I do what I don't want to do and don't do what I want to do because of sin, that falls short of the glory of God.Romans 7:24-25 Romans 3:23

So am looking at other examples now .That's on  how people were selfless and how  others changed from being selfish to selfless.

Peter was dedicated to Christ and said he would be with him up until the end and die with Him. Yet when the rooster crowed, he denied him three times. Matthew 26:33-35 Matthew 26:69-75

In the end, Peter was walking in the love of God, which casted out his fear and he became bold. The Holy Spirit changed him, from being fearful to bold, from being selfish to selfless.Matthew 26:35 John 21:18-19 ( As foretold)

Jesus is the prime example of course. Although He created the world, He humbled Himself to be like us and came as a Servant. He humbled Himself to death, although He was blameless. He did it for our sake and so we can have redemption and eternal life. Hebrews 2:9-18

Then there was Stephen who was stoned. Yet as he was about to die, he thought totally of the people stoning him. Asking God to not hold it against them. Just like Jesus, who said " forgive them Father. They don't know what they are doing." Acts 7:59-60 Luke 23:34

How many of us can think of others needs, right when we are being really hurt and persecuted?

It also makes me think of Job, a righteous man. Who became more righteous, in partaking in the divine nature of God. Who is gracious to the ungrateful and loving those who are hostile to Him.

Job went on a journey. He complained in his suffering, which was immense. Job 6-7 Yet in the end he was thinking of his friends, more than himself. At that point he was restored. Job 42:10 He partook in the divine nature of God.

God must have renewed Jobs way of thinking, giving him insight into understanding others. God must have shown Job resurrection and the hope of a total restoration in the future life.Job 19:25-27  Job 14:7-9 God must have taken Job on a journey to die to himself and live for the will of God. To change from selfishness to selflessness.

The Holy Spirit enables us to do things we ourselves cannot.

Not always big showy things, working of Holy Spirit can be deep and not always so apparent from the outside.

As I look around and see the attitude of the world today, of course I'm not talking about every single person and not talking about the whole world. Just generally.
I'm seeing how faith is put into practice. There is  the widespread promotion of atheism and the spirit behind it. Even affecting the religious, who talk about an after life. That's because they appear to say one thing with their mouth and yet practise a different thing in behaviour. James 2:14-26 James 1:22-25
Behind atheism and all similar beliefs that don't pinpoint Jesus as the Christ. They have grown in sheer arrogance. Proud of the developments in humanity and so proud they put themselves above God.

Not enjoying the fact that He gave humanity the power to partake in His  glory .Yet this was not to leave Him out, in denying the surpassing power is from Him. It was designed to partake with Him, in a humble way. They don't do this.

They suppress the truth and grow prouder and look to themselves for the answers. They worship the creature " man" but not God our Creator. Romans 1:18-23

Life is prolonging but that will not achieve eternal life, unless they  humble themselves to turn to our Creator.

Life is improving and they do everything to enjoy themselves, but that will never reach the joy of eternal life, unless they humble themselves to turn to our Maker.

They are taking morality into their own hands, which is faulty and limited. They will never have the complete truth and complete justice, unless they humble themselves before Jesus Christ our God, to have their own conscience and behaviour before Him cleared.

They deny the power and full understanding of our God, who is omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent.
They deny in this "eternity."

Humankind is so proud of their achievements and civilization is becoming more and more comfortable. Enjoying life for today, as if there is no tommorow.

Promoting a falsehood ,in humanity reaching a standard. Yet within that is a lack of completion. The heart is not changed and motives are for selfishness.

There is within that subtlety a despising of real good and a promotion of selfishness.

They say "look after number one- who is yourself." Anyone who cares for others is  criticized for being weak, when they do it from the Spirit of God and not man.

They say " look after your own interests."
Such a promotion of selfishness. That's what humankind is promoting. "Enjoy life today and look after yourself."

They don't look to what God is saying. " Each one of you look to the interests of others and you will serve each other." Philippians 2:4

They don't see that this time is temporary and then tomorrow is eternal.
"For what does to profit a man who gains the whole world but forfeits his own soul." Mark 8:36

What does it profit a person who has trode all over others to achieve ,so much. That doesn't give them eternity. Yet the downtrodden person, who has turned to Christ has eternity.

Look at the parable of The Rich man and Lazarus. Luke16:19-31
What is the enjoyment of this imperfect temporary life,to the joy of a perfect eternity.

Look at civilization before this comfortable time. They didn't have comfortable lifestyles. They thought more of the after life.
Atheists who promote evolutionary, would probably argue that it kept them going, and now people don't live in fantasy because evolution in civilization, is giving better lives.

They deny the truth and there is tangible and intangible evidence that God and all eternity exists. Romans 1:20 John 3:19
There were people like Moses who were even prepared to give up comfort, because they focused more on the better resurrection, when the promises of God will be perfected. Hebrews 11:24-27 Hebrews 11:40

There have been many people like this and such people in times like this are going to be misunderstood. For the seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful. Matthew 13:22

Showing how amazing the prophecy of the ancient days was , as it unfolds before our eyes today. As the apostle Paul said. 2Timothy 3:3-17  When Christ foretold us that the love of many will wax cold. Matthew 24:12

But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.

They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over gullible women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires, always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth. Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these teachers oppose the truth. They are men of depraved minds, who, as far as the faith is concerned, are rejected. But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those men, their folly will be clear to everyone.

You, however, know all about my teaching, my way of life, my purpose, faith, patience, love, endurance, persecutions, sufferings what kinds of things happened to me in Antioch, Iconium and Lystra, the persecutions I endured. Yet the Lord rescued me from all of them. In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted,  while evildoers and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.  But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.  All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,  so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
