Understanding a statement and acceptance of a statement as fact are 2 different things, not necessarily running together on a subject.

Why would people/scientists who do not accept a God, put God at the head of evolution?

Maybe never the twain they shall meet if that is their only option.

Hi @Serenity ,

You said

because there?s no physical evidence of gods part.  However, scientists would dearly love to prove the existence of god, maybe one day, they will.  Many scientists do accept a god, and accept evolution, I can?t see how one diminishes the other.

If the criteria they use is physical , in what form is it ?

Who made the criteria for evidence being based on physical objectivity?

I know many disagree but I see Jesus who came as physical evidence of God, fulfilling the prophecies, performing miracles, healing the sick, raising the dead. All that and the places of Israel still remain, such as the palace the Herod lived in and Hezekiah's tunnel, the dead sea Scrolls.

To me that is physical evidence. Yet so many don't want to accept it because of it being so long ago. Some accept Jesus came but don't accept He is prove of God. Yet He fulfilled the prophecies and did all those miracles. That must have made an impact for centuries and still remains for some but not for others.

Hi
Some interesting posts seems it is a question of believing what is written there are far to many doubting Thomas's.

.   27  Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.

28  And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. (Compare)

29  Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed

Everything comes down to believing what is written in scripture even if we do not understand it all the first verse of Genesis reads.

.   enesis 1

1  In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth

This is a statement of fact from God and there is no time frame given for this stage of creation how long it took.

Love and peace

Science can only deal in "physical" evidence. Since God is not physical and is 'outside' our universe, science can't prove or disprove Him. Science is also based on evidence produced by repeated observation and/or experimentation. It deals with the normal, the ordinary - not miracles.

Jesus' life was physical, but doesn't count as "scientific" evidence because it's not reproducible. (The same goes for your life, and mine. The details of our personal lives can't be proved in the scientific sense - but that doesn't mean we don't exist!). Things like archaeological finds are called historical evidence - very important, still true, but not part of science.

"Blessed is the one who always trembles before God,
but whoever hardens their heart falls into trouble." (Proverbs 28:14)

@Deborah this was written the same time as you were posting.. I had no idea you were posting and was just posting in general, to no one in particular.

The message and wisdom of the world is short-lived and temporary and the message of the cross is foolishness to them. 1 Corinthians 1:18-25

Better to look foolish before people and be right with God, than the other way around.

The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God. As the Scriptures say,

I will destroy the wisdom of the wise

and discard the intelligence of the intelligent.

So where does this leave the philosophers, the scholars, and the world's brilliant debaters?

God has made the wisdom of this world look foolish. "Since God in his wisdom saw to it that the world would never know him through human wisdom", he has used our foolish preaching to save those who believe.

It is foolish to the Jews, who ask for signs from heaven. And it is foolish to the Greeks, who seek human wisdom. So when we preach that Christ was crucified, the Jews are offended and the Gentiles say its all nonsense.[/i]

I wouldn't say that I believe in evolution in the same way as I believe in Jesus. But I do think that evolution is an undeniable fact. Evolution does not prove God does not exist and God doesn't prove evolution doesn't happen. I think it perfectly possible for both to be "true". I would ask any creationist if undeniable proof of evolution were provided, would it destroy their faith?

Hi Strobe
And welcome I don't like the word evolution it gives the impression that everything made itself out of dead matter I much prefer  creation that it has taken the time science says it has I don't have a problem with.This.
So evolution has never happens but creation by the God of the bible is ongoing the crowning glory of which is man (mankind ) in the image of God which is Christ at his second coming.

Love and peace
