Hi @davetaff ,

Thanks for that, it seems like it?s the words evolution and creation that causes so much misunderstanding.  I?m not a Christian, but I do kinda believe in a god.  I don?t post often now, sometimes things I say seem to offend, some probably think what on Earth am I doing on this forum (I often think this myself), however, having read all the disagreements amongst Christians themselves regarding interpretations of scriptures and such like, I think well maybe it is ok for me to post.

Hi Tarah
Thank you for your reply I welcome unbelievers no point in preaching to the converted you say you sort of believe in God if you are unsure ask questions start a question thread and see what answers you get but always check the answers against the scriptures.

We can say that God began his creation then watched over it so that it evolved according to his will up until the present.
Don't forget God Sabbath rest is still future and we can enter into it.

Hi @davetaff ,

Thanks for that, what I should have made clear, is I?m not a Christian and I?m not looking to become one.  The bible is just a book to me, I?ve been very lucky in my life, seen lots of interesting historical artefacts including numerous pieces of what could be considered scripture, though would never appear in the bible.  I love to read, but, couldn?t spend the
the rest of my life in one book - let alone make enough sense out of it, to use it as some blueprint to live my life by.  Of course I could be wrong, that?s a luxury that I can say, but you really can?t.

I enjoy reading all the debates, they?re very thought provoking, and more recently infuriatingly ridiculous .  It?s funny, when regular members were being aggressively threatened by another, I felt the urge to defend - to me, nothing to do with god, it just struck me as odd that the least qualified member, was prepared to take on the overqualified haha.  I wasn?t the only one obviously!!

Anyways I?ve gone a bit off piste so I?ll leave you with a truce crevolution? Lol

Tara

Hi
So thanks to Tarah we have a new word which sums up pretty good how we got here crevolution  how God began the process we call evolution I have often wondered how a one celled microbe could turn itself into a blue whale without any outside help but now we know it did have help the God of the bible was there every step of the way.

Hi
Thought it would be a shame to let this very interesting and important thread die.
The question is if the earth is as old as scientists say how do we account for the six days of creation in scripture.
When Noah stepped of the ark it was a new start for mankind everything that had gone wrong with the creation before the flood had been destroyed so there has to be a new creation.
This creation would follow the six days of creation in Genesis  the creation account should be read on a spiritual level.
To back this up let's take a quick look at the forth day when God created the sun the moon and the stars.

The sun the light of the world represents Christ
The moon the reflected light of the sun represents the church the bride of Christ.
The stars are the children created by Christ and his Bride.

Hi
Can we equate the creation account to after the flood.

.  2  When the earth was as yet unformed and desolate, with the surface of the ocean depths shrouded in darkness, and while the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters,

3  God said, ?Let there be light!? So there was light

Verse 2 can well describe the state of the earth at the height of the flood all was darkness no light and God said let there be light this can have a double meaning the sun breaking through and it can also mean the light of the world Christ.

Hi

Lets look at the next stage.

Gen 1:4  And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
Gen 1:5  And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

So if the light is Christ the light of the world then we know that that light is good then the darkness is the earth and everything in it so the day and night are light and darkness Good and evil.

Col 1:15  Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
Col 1:16  For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
Col 1:17  And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

So it is Christ who is the light of the world who God brought forth first of all and through whom all things are created so after the flood there was no Adam so it was necessary to create a new man in the image of God.

Love and Peace
Dave
