A statement is not defamatory unless its publication has caused or is likely to cause serious harm to the reputation of the claimant.

It is a defence to an action for defamation for the defendant to show that the imputation conveyed by the statement complained of is substantially true.

It is a defence to an action for defamation for the defendant to show that the following conditions are met.

(1)The first condition is that the statement complained of was a statement of opinion.

(2)The second condition is that the statement complained of indicated, whether in general or specific terms, the basis of the opinion.

(3)The third condition is that an honest person could have held the opinion on the basis of:
       (a)any fact which existed at the time the statement complained of was published;
(b)anything asserted to be a fact in a privileged statement published before the statement complained of.

Hi
it has made me very sad to read the last posts as a Christian forum it has done a lot of harm to those who come here to learn about God and see Christians squabbling over trivia instead of presenting our opinions with love and consideration for our brothers and sisters in Christ.
Can we apologise and get back to the thread it seams from the number of views it is of great interest to many for my self I think trying to equate science and scripture is a waste of time the bible is not a book of science.
As Christians we all believe that God is the creator of all life so lets agree on that and move on.

Love and Peace

Hi
So back to the thread the theory of evolution what is it I would say it's man's attempt to explain God's creation as it's still a theory and as I understand it it still has a long way to go so let's be patient and see where it leads you never know they may conclude that it is the God of the bible that has created everything we see.Dave

Having said that I just come across this verse.

.     Ecclesiastes 3:11He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man's heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end

Hi
So did God create everything over a long period of time or in 6 24 hour days and dose it matter the main thing and most impotent thing is it is the God of the bible who is the creator of everything on this planet and he has created it as a paradise for us to live in but now it seams we are destroying it bit by bit the biggest threat global warming but what dose God have to say on the subject.

Rev_11:18  And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.

Hi
So who is it that is destroying the earth I suppose we all contribute one way or another but it seams to me with the threat of global warming hanging over our heads this prediction is coming true to think this was written 2000 years ago how could anyone possibly know then that man would be in a position to destroy the planet only God could know and he warned us through St John

Love and Peace
