Where do you draw the line, alcohol, cigarettes?, but wait - what about coffee and caffeine, lets not forget tea usually has more caffeine in it than coffee - oh and what about the evils of sugar, or fat? or is it only certain types of fat? Not forgetting processed food, the list is endless.

I just wonder where do we draw the line, or what about education and moderation and people taking responsibility? but even then, I can understand that some fall prey to things, an escape from this world is kind of understandable.

Investigation into sharia law begins

A review into the application of sharia law in England and Wales will begin immediately, the Home Secretary Theresa May has announced. Persistent concerns have been raised that women are suffering because of sharia law in this country, with Baroness Caroline Cox speaking out repeatedly about the issue. It is expected that the review will [...]

Cabinet Minister welcomes ‘sex change’ surgery pledge

The Minister for Women and Equalities Nicky Morgan has praised Lloyds Banking Group for offering its employees ‘sex change’ surgery as part of its new healthcare scheme. In an interview with pro-LGBT website Pink News, Mrs Morgan ‘congratulated’ Lloyds for “leading the way” on transsexualism. In the UK, the number of people who have obtained [...]

Named persons now hounding dentists for info on kids

State guardians in Scotland are pushing dentists to surrender sensitive information about patients under 18, it has emerged. The Daily Mail reports that staff at a dental practice in Aberdeenshire have received “aggressive” phone calls from named persons asking for details on past check-ups and tooth decay. The state officials are operating in areas piloting [...]

Two thirds of premature babies survive with care

A study of very premature babies has shown that more than two thirds survive if they are given active neonatal care. Researchers in Germany studied a total of 106 babies, born at either 22 or 23 weeks, over a period of four years. During that time, 86 babies received active care, while 20 received palliative [...]

Mum who regrets abortion: ‘God is greater than our sin’

A mother who had an abortion while at school has defied a blackmailer and shared her story of God’s forgiveness after an abortion. Stephanie Chatfield is now married to a Republican politician in the US state of Michigan and spoke out in a Facebook post. Explaining that someone had “heard a rumor” and “would keep [...]

Academic: ‘Kids, start with a ¼ pill when taking ecstasy’

An academic has been branded “irresponsible” for suggesting that teenagers should be taught how to take Class A drugs ‘safely’. Valerie Curran, Professor of Psychopharmacology at University College London, said young people should be told to split ecstasy tablets into quarters before consuming them. Prominent anti-drugs campaigner Mary Brett said her advice amounts to “condoning [...]

Watch: ‘Named Person scheme patronises parents’

Family life is treated as a tick-box exercise by the Named Person scheme, The Christian Institute has warned. Simon Calvert said the scheme over-assessed children and is “trampling on people’s right to privacy”. He was speaking as it emerged that state guardians are pushing dentists to surrender sensitive information about patients.
