Most of us have seen them on rare occasions. You go camping or walking. You smell something unusual... Somebody is having a barbecue... Nosily you look and see... A U.F.O. (Unidntified frying object). Is it edible or beyond redemption? Luckily you realize somebody else will eat it and not you. You walk on in relief and have a fresh of breath air! GB.

Haha. I bet a few of you were not relating this posting to food!
Regarding the other subject, it is clear that most are from man and the few that are not have a spiritual origion.
Those that want to waste their time to attempt to live on another planet seem to have swayed away from trusting God.

What do you mean with that MG, can you expand a little?  Have to say I thought the selfie that Tim Peake did showing the earth in his helmet was very cool.

To put your trust in science is putting your trust in man. What man has done. His achievements. The sins of building the tower of Babel were that of putting your trust in mans achievements. What man can do.

What would you say to the Christian scientist who seeks to prove God as a creator ?

He could be riding the White horse !

You could be speaking against God Himself

That scientist is already putting his trust in God, that's why he is seeking to prove it for the sake of unbelievers, or unbelieving christians.
Disturb us Lord, when we are too pleased with ourselves. When our dreams have come true because we dreamed too little. When we arrived safely because we sailed too close to the shore. Disturb us Lord, to dare more boldly. To venture on wider seas. Where storms will show your mastery; Where, losing sight of land, we shall find the stars. We ask you to push back the horizons of our hopes; And to push into the future, in strength, courage, hope and love.                     (SIR FRANCIS DRAKE 1577)

Something cropped up in my mind. Previous to people seeing UFOs, people used to report sightings of fairies and the like. It seems people tend to see things that fit into the beliefs of the age we live in to some extent. Oh and in previous times sightings of angels and demons too, monsters, etc.

I have heard explanations for many people seeing the same thing could be put down to 'mass hysteria'. I have certainly witnessed groups of people more or less whipping themselves (metaphorically) into a state of frenzy - heightened state of emotions. Quite scary to see 'herd mentality'? 'Group think'?

Group think can be dangerous. As in when you are part of a group (and I have seen this online too), you begin to assimilate into the group and tend to take on board the thoughts and ideas of the group you are part of, often without questioning; because you are part of 'the group', you basically side with them without questioning - dangerous. I guess this could happen in churches and denominations too. I guess you more likely to side with any group you feel affiliated with perhaps? Like your friends, etc?

I personally prefer it when I can respectfully disagree with any groups, or friends. We don't have to always agree on every little thing. However I guess for some, some issues are very important and they need? others to agree with them?

I musing/typing aloud, as ever  :D

Group think usually is dangerous. It is what makes people watch Coronation Street or Emerdale Farm...Its what Hitler relied on to start a big war. Group think is how governments get things passed through simple manipulation techniques. Those who think outside the box are labelled mad or conspiricy theorists. Few people have an open mind as what they are taught is an open mind is not at all. With todays manipulations and schooling the ones who are taught to have an open mind but to think inside the box and not outside it and thy can't see that they have not opened the box yet! They are like chickens that have been caged their entire lives where one takes them outside the cage to watch them walk in squares to get to where they want to go!
It takes a few years of training to really start to think outside the box. And this training means that one has to go outside the concepts of employmnt or benfits and how government systems work, and abstain from televisions and radio etc for a while as so many concepts of thought are based on manipulation through media. This week on the news (I just saw the same "News" repeated yet again for the third day) they were covering the judges statement about the Russian spy that died a few years ago. They stated that the ones responsible for his death were PROBABLY the Russian government.
1. "Probably" can not be a news article unless one is trying to manipulate the public to be against Russia.
2. To cover such an article means that other "Real" news is being ignored so what else is going on that is being hidden from the publics view? About the last time we had real news coverage that was not biased either way and was not manipulated or "Played on", that the public could rely on it as 100% daily news as it happened was back in the early 1990's as somewhere in the mid 1990's we noticed a huge change in what was reported and how it was covered. How certain "Key" words are used to day to sway the masses into thinking in certain ways.
A really good example of this was last year when a news reporter was genuinly in tears due to what she was reporting on. This was effective so the next few weeks on the news they had all news reporters falsly weep and teary when sad news came on... All false and set up.
Another manipulation is used here in Wales where the news reporters have been chosen because of their accents. We often watch one young man reporting with a very strong accent that I believe it has been "Learned" as I have been all round Wales and never heard somebody speak like that other then the odd person trying to sound posh for a laugh... (Like the Welsh version of Mrs Bucket!)
