Hello Dave,

It might be open for everyone to contribute their thoughts to the end of Revelations.
It is difficult to interpret a lot of the symbolism in Revelations and also to distinguish the literal from the symbolism. There could be several interpretations and I wouldnt personally come to any conclusion about them, unless it was clear that it was the truth.

Hi Rose
Thank you for your post yes these threads on bible buddies are open to everyone to join in with their thoughts and questions all are welcome.

so lets move on to the next section.

Rev 21:9  And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.
Rev 21:10  And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,

from what I understand from the above is the new Jerusalem is the bride of Christ the church his body how wonderful is that and how beautiful.
I think the great high mountain maybe a symbol of great power from where Christ the king of kings will rule the new earth with his bride the church his body.

how wonderful don't you think.

Love and Peace
Dave

@davetaff
Its certainly wonderful.
Its such a long way ahead and even after the millenium era, as it seems.
For death, pain and crying will be the former things. Revelation 21:4 Yet they will be there in the millenium era, as you mentioned.

We know that to God, a thousand years and a day are the same. Only to me it looks like such a long way ahead.
The millenium era is something that can perhaps be related to. Yet after that its beyond our comprehension. No eye has seen and no ear has heard what the Lord has planned for those who love Him.
The crucial part is being connected to God in a relationship, to understand and to love Him.
I by myself cannot possibly interpret Revelations and need to rely on God to teach me. Thats not going to happen overnight.
He is the greatest teacher. John 14:26
Sometimes I seek an answer, and am so wanting it that I overthink in striving to hear from God.
In that striving is my own thoughts.
Then later as I relax comes much more peace and the answer I was looking for, which is a whole lot different to my original thoughts. Hopefully that is God speaking into more simple things. Though it would take much more longer in understanding all of revelations.

Hi Rose
Thank you for a lovely post yes how can one comprehend eternity I think maybe just speculating here a little but in eternity there is no time jest one big now in the world we live in we are always waiting for something pay day birthdays Christmas and so on when we are waiting time goes slow.

When we enter the new heaven and earth we will have everything our hearts desire we have everything we need or want for nothing its jest to love life in God and God in us.

Moving on to the next section.

Rev 21:11  Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;
Rev 21:12  And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:
Rev 21:13  On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.
Rev 21:14  And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

Here begins the description of the new Jerusalem and it looks pretty breath-taking interesting to note that the entrance to the city is through Israel its all the work God has done in Israel and through Israel that leads us into the new Jerusalem.

Then we have the foundations the twelve apostels the are the ones that support the whole structure without a solid foundation the whole structure would fall apart.

Love and Peace

Hi
Moving on to the next section

Rev 21:15  And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.
Rev 21:16  And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.
Rev 21:17  And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.
Rev 21:18  And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.
Rev 21:19  And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;
Rev 21:20  The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.
Rev 21:21  And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.
Rev 21:22  And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.

So how big is the new Jerusalem I googled this.

The New American Standard translates 12,000 furlongs directly into 1,500 miles (1,500 miles 5,280 feet to a mile = 7,920,000 feet). The diameter of earth is 7,920 miles and New Jerusalem is 7,920,000 feet on each side.

This is quite a size top of it would be out in space but what is the new Jerusalem according to this

Rev 21:2  And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

The new Jerusalem is the Bride I take that to mean the bride of Christ not a building But the body of Christ judging by the size of it  must incorporate a very large number of believers.

I was thinking of all these precious stones are they not the same as Aaron the high priest carried on his breastplate next to his heart here in revelations we see the reality of that symbolism.

Love and Peace

Hi
Moving on to the next section any bible buddies out there who would like to join in please do.

.   23  And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

24  And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.

25  And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.

26  And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.

27  And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life

I find this section a little strange I understand the new Jerusalem is the bride of Christ his body the church the body of believers.

God and Christ are the light thereof I take this to mean the saying God is all and in all has come true.

It's the next part I find a little strange who are the nations and kings outside who are saved and are found in the lambs book of life are the bride and these others two separate groups.

The kings of the earth and the nations will have access to the new Jerusalem to worship.

It's this verse I find strange

. 27  And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

I thought that all the above we're destroyed in the millennium is it possible that some sinners will be left.

Love and Peace
