* Entry 2 of 4 (Cariad)

'If any man have an ear, let him hear.
(Rev. 13:9)

* This is the last time that these words of, 'The Son of Man', are sounded, the following references are to the times when it was said before, while our Lord was upon the earth.

Mat.11:15 'He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.'
Mat. 13:9  'Who hath ears to hear, let him hear. '
Mat. 13:43  'Who hath ears to hear, let him hear. '
(See also, Mar. 4:9, 23; 7:16; Luk.8:8; 14:35)

* These same words were used in the Old Testament,  in Ezekiel 3:27. where God says to Ezekiel:-

'But when I speak with thee,
I will open thy mouth,
and thou shalt say unto them,
"Thus saith the Lord GOD;"
he that heareth, let him hear;
and he that forbeareth, let him forbear:
for they are a rebellious house.'

* This was said concerning Israel, by God, to Israel via Ezekiel; our Lord spoke these words, 'He that hath ears to hear, let him hear', during his time on earth to Israel too, and now again as the risen 'Son of God' he says again, through John, in Revelation, the same words, to the same People, 'If any man have an ear, let him hear'

What a God!  What a Saviour!

* God has spoken to us, too, in our dispensation, in the epistles of Paul written *following the revelation God gave Him as 'Steward' of the truth concerning the Body of Christ, which had been, 'hid in God', since before the foundation of the world (Eph. 3:9).  Do we have ears to hear?  Are we listening?

* Entry 3 of 4 (Cariad)

'He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity:
he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword.
Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.'

(Rev 13:10)

* This is a 'Hebraism', expressing destiny, and the certainty of approaching judgment: eg., Take a look at Jeremiah 43:11

'And when he (Nebuchadnezzar) cometh,
he shall smite the land of Egypt,
and deliver such as are for death to death;
and such as are for captivity to captivity;
and such as are for the sword to the sword.'

* See also Jeremiah 15:2:-

'And it shall come to pass, if they say unto thee,
"Whither shall we go forth?" then thou shalt tell them,
"Thus saith the LORD; Such as are for death, to death;
and such as are for the sword, to the sword;
and such as are for the famine, to the famine;
and such as are for the captivity, to the captivity. ... "'

* See also, Ezek.5:2 and Zech.11:9.

* From these passages it is clear that Rev. 13:10 means, that so sure and certain will these judgements be which are carried out by the Beast, that none will escape them.  Therefore there is a need for the faith and patience of the saints to endure it.

- Flight - (Matt. 24:15-28; Mar.13:14-23; Rev.12:14)
- Patience - (Rev.1:9;  2:2,19;  3:3,10;  14:9-12)
- Faith - (Rev.2:10,13,19;  17:14)

* Entry 4 of 4

'And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth;
.. and he had two horns like a lamb,
.... and he spake as a dragon.
...... And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him,
........ and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
.......... And he doeth great wonders,
................. so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
.......... And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth
................. by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast;
................. saying to them that dwell on the earth,
................. that they should make an image to the beast,
................. which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
.......... And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast,
................  that the image of the beast should both speak,
................  and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
.......... And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond,
................. to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
................. and that no man might buy or sell,
................. save he that had the mark,
.................... or the name of the beast,
......................  or the number of his name.
Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast:
for it is the number of a man;
and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.'

(Rev 13:11-18)

* This beast, like the first is energized by Satanic power.  He is called, 'The False Prophet', (in Rev. 16:13; 19:20 & 20:10), his mission is to aid the first Beast, by deceiving mankind..

* The Lord Jesus, when speaking of this great tribulation, warns against false prophets as well as false Christs, and their great words, and power to deceive (Matt. 24:5, 11,24).

* We learn of his end in Rev 20:10:-

'And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone,
where the beast and the false prophet are,
and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.'

Hi Cariad
Thank you for your replies very good reading and good scriptures I see a lot of thought and work has gone into them and I don't think I can add anything to them.
I would jest like to say for the benefit of our guests and reader's who may find some of these scriptures a bit frightening to consider the words of our Lord.

 Mat 24:6  And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
Mat 24:7  For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

The message being do not be troubled put your trust in God and his word and his promises, all the above things must happen but remember God is in control.
And remember is we are in Christ we are not of the world.

  Joh 17:16  They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
Joh 17:17  Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
Joh 17:18  As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
Joh 17:19  And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.
Joh 17:20  Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
Joh 17:21  That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sen t me.

'And I beheld another beast coming up
out of the earth;
and he had two horns like a lamb,
and he spake as a dragon.'

(Rev.13:11)

Though we are warned that there will be many false prophets, and false Christ's, this is, ' the', 'False Prophet', that is the title given to him. His object is to deceive (Matt.24:5, 11, 24), by false testimony.  Though described as he is (above), he will look to mankind like a man.

The first, 'Beast', is 'political', but this beast is, 'religious', for He will cause the people of the earth to worship the first beast (v.12).  This worship will be activated by the miraculous healing of a death wound which the first beast will receive (Rev. 13:3), for He will be brought back from death. Man will be so deceived as to worship Him as divine. Yet God Himself will not be acknowledged. Scientific advancement, knowledge, 'progress', worldly wisdom, and philanthropic actions will thrive, along with the baser instincts of human nature. Man will have a form of godliness, but deny the power thereof.  From such, we are told to, 'turn away'. (2 Timothy 3:5)

This is evident in the world today, but it will increase.

How we need to keep our eyes stayed on Christ our Saviour, now risen and glorified, and at God's right hand: and upon His written Word; that we may not be led astray by a false spirituality, which is not of God, though having every appearance of being so.

Compare: Rev.13:13-14 with 2 Thess.2:9-11 - see also, 1 Tim.4:1-3.
Miracles in themselves are not necessarily proof of what is Divine.

Hello yet again,

I apologize for entering yet again, but my mind is taken up with this at the moment.
The comfort we can draw from the record we are given of these prophetic events is that God knows just what is happening, and that He has told us how long these times will last.  They have a time limit, and an end.  They have to be endured, by those who are alive and remain in that day, for a battle is being waged;  but the outcome is sure, and our hope in Christ, secure.

Praise God!

---------------------

The number 666: - '6', is the number of man.  '666' - is a triple concentration of the essence of, '6'.
- The symbol of the ancient pagan mysteries was SSS or 666, and they are evident in such as Spiritism or Theosophy whose object is the uniting of all religion into one.

- As the alphabet of the Hebrew language can also be used numerically, the name of the Anti-Christ would be able to be translated into numeric form, and perhaps it will indeed amount to 666.

Just thoughts.

Hi Cariad
Thanks for your posts you never need to apologise I enjoy reading your posts as I'm sure many others do as well .

The Lamb with two horns the two horns indicate power political systems I think they are democracy and communism the two biggest political systems we have.
The lamb is religious systems devised by men it seam's in this day and age there is a move afoot to bring all these religions together under one banner we all  worship the same God which of course is not true as you know.
Christianity is loosing ground all the time accepting things the Bible condemns.
The political systems that be say they are for the people for the poor and the sick and the down trodden that's a lie they are for the rich and powerful they say they have no money but they can spend billions on armaments to kill each other but can't find a few pounds to house a homeless family.
