One last thought .....

Whereas people in the OT sacrificed animals to cover their sins....

God/Jesus  sacrificed an animal to cover Adam and Eve...

Was the skin the blood of an animal ? from an animal ?

Or was it the covering of Christ ? [already slain]

I have read all sorts of stuff regarding Revelation, and all seem to place it in the distant future. But nobody has explained why it says, "must soon take place," and, "because the time is near."
I have heard it said that in God's time scale, "soon" could mean thousands of years, but what then about the book of Daniel?
Daniel12v4But you, Daniel, roll up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge.?
Daniel12v9He replied, ?Go your way, Daniel, because the words are rolled up and sealed until the time of the end.

Much of the prophetic visions of Daniel came to pass about 600 years later in the time of Christ, so if sealing the book up for Daniel meant about 600 years, what does it say about John's revelations "soon taking place" or "being near".
According to that timescale, much of Revelation should have already happened.

This is just curiosity not my theology!

May I ask, are you a preterist? Partial preterist? @francis drake

I have come across so many interpretations of revelations, from the ludicrous to the more feasible. For me personally it`s so hard to pin it down. Are we meant to understand it? I have heard preacher after preacher, bible scholar after bible scholar, so many it`s really hard to tell. I did come across a very interesting video on YT regarding the four horsemen though, I found it really intriguing and made a lot of sense too. Of course, having said that, many others have made sense to me before until the blatant errors are pointed out. Anyway, have look at this video if you like, and tell me what you think.

Yes the horses of Conquest, War, Famine and  Death, that have been around since the fall.

Yes there's many interpretations out there - from people who are adam - ant  - [sorry]  mistype - I meant to type adamant about their beliefs.

I suppose the flag colors could relate to the horses....

I remember many years ago - having a vision where I was walking up a hill and was tired and once I got to the top of the hill I saw stallions/horses of many colours - looking through the gate I could see these horses  !

Never did quite understand the vision - maybe I never will....

But as I suggested @ http://www.1faith.co.uk/family-home-forum/question-8362/msg52661/?topicseen#msg52661  it is for us to find the anwsers

Hi
Quote
TJ's said
 Well the lake of fire was created by God for the devil and his angels Matthew 25:41;

The fire was created by God however the purpose was different !

I say this because satan and his angels cannot repent !

why can they not repent ? is there salvation for fallen angels ?

Well these were the elect of God - chosen .......

Or were they >?

No salvation has ever been mentioned in scripture for angels
- See more at: http://www.1faith.co.uk/bible-buddies/book-of-revelation-discussion-chapter-by-chapter/32/#sthash.Qn22gTg3.dpuf

we keep coming back to the lake of fire I read this in Hebrews this morning thought it mite be relevant

Heb 1:7  And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.

Of course all these have eternal life and become the lake of fire which burns for ever and ever.

can angels repent I'm not sure I think maybe they can

1Pe 3:19  By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
1Pe 3:20  Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

I take the spirits in prison to mean the angels which were put in chains, the question being why preach to them if they can't repent.

Love and Peace
Dave

Hi Copernicus
Welcome to the forum thanks for the link interesting like you I have read quite a few interpretations almost all contradicting one another so who do you believe as luck would have it my memory is not to good so I have forgot most of it.
I now try to stick to how the bible speaks to me working from this ground rule God is love if I can't see Gods love in what I read or interpret then i assume i'm not understanding it properly.

Looking forward to you input

Love and Peace

I guess the whole point is not that these elements have been around since the fall, but how likely is it that all these countries share the same colours that are pointed out in revelations of being a coincidence. I find it quite incredulous that God would leave out such a major player in end times events as Islam out of bible prophecy. Did you note that a quarter of the world is under Islamic rule and that it correlates to the green horse. Note also that the flag of Saudi Arabia has a large sword on it.

O yes you may well be right @Copernicus B

Lets look @ the scripture

Revelation 6:7-8 NLT And when the Lamb broke the fourth seal, I heard the fourth living being say, ?Come!' And I looked up and saw a horse whose color was pale green like a corpse. And Death was the name of its rider, who was followed around by the grave. They were given authority over one-fourth of the earth, to kill with the sword and famine and disease and wild animals

It is interesting [as some believe that the pale green horse is the Church dying] this would relate to the message to the Churches

So your posting is quite relevant here
