Hi
Just wondering what the following is all about be grateful if anyone has any ideas.

Rev 7:1  And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.

Are the winds the breath of God which gives life to the dead maybe these few verses may help us

Eze 37:8  And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them.
Eze 37:9  Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.
Eze 37:10  So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.
Eze 37:11  Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts.
Eze 37:12  Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.
Eze 37:13  And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves,
Eze 37:14  And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD.

Love and Peace
Dave

I would be more tempted to link this scripture in Revelation to Ezekiel 7:2  "Son of man, this is what the Sovereign LORD says to the land of Israel: "'The end! The end has come upon the four corners of the land!

Here we have the nation or land rather than the earth - but the same can be applied

Now consider those who lived upon this land who were Gods chosen ?

You might consider Exodus 12:7 here and think about "how God's chosen could now be destroyed !

[Unless of course Israel was raptured and only those left were destroyed]

I would not however link Revelation 7:1 with Ezekiel 37....

In fact quite the opposite

Hope that helps

Hi TJS
I think the verses I quoted from Ezekiel work well with Rev 7 when we take into consideration what follows the raising up of the 144.000 of Israel is it not the same as bringing the dry bones back to life

Rev 7:2  And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,
Rev 7:3  Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.
Rev 7:4  And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.

12000 from each tribe just wondering is there any significance in the 12000.

Love and Peace

Was there another tribe from the adopted son, or is that a different set of tribes?

If so, that would make it 13 tribes, 156,000.

Okay put it another way.

There are 12 Tribes of Israel.

Then we have Jesus who in effect, 'He will save whom He will save', i.e. people not of these 12 tribes...so Gentiles...  So then in essence, this would create a tribe in itself.  The grafted ones.  So this would then as adopted sons/daughters, make it the 13 tribes.

Just musing :D
