Unless God permits evil to prove His power over it ?

In whiich case it is human endeavour ? but it cannot be ! as Christ alone wins the battle ?

God's sovereign wil must win over all

In which case we have no free will

Perhaps free will is an illusion? I've pondered that one many times before.

Hi
Free will is essential that's why God put the two trees In the garden of Eden so we could choose life or death it's also essential for Love the only thing God can't do is make us love him he could but it would not be true love we would jest be robots.
To love someone you must choose to love them from the heart free will is a God given gift we need to use it wisely and choose the tree of life Jesus Christ our Lord.

Love and Peace

But do you think God's sovereign will may be above mankinds response ? and might this be "God's undeserved favour ! "

If this is so then ....it must  mean that "we can never outgive God"

As God made /created Adam and Eve AND they sinned [rebelled/sin is worse than witchcraft]  yet God still  continued to spread the seed on the hard path and the  soil that yields weeds  etc

God goes the extra mile .... for everyone.

So the end result is  human  response ?  [free will]

This whether I am born again or not must be defined   by God's repsonse and not my doing ? [free will activity]

Hi TJs
Not to to what your trying say free will is a gift from god the reason being Love, I don't believe he would override my choice not to love him but will accept my decision to love him. All God has done throughout scripture is to show how much he Love's us he sent his son to die for us that's how much he Loves us.

Now back to topic

Rev 6:9  And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:
Rev 6:10  And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

why were these soul's under the alter dose it mean they were buried not concious until they were awakened at this time it seams that they don't know the day the lord will come to judge the world.

Love and Peace
Dave

Well what does an altar signify?

Their lives sacrificed for God's word, so their souls 'under the spiritual altar'...i.e. under Christ's sacrifice, Jesus always being the head.  Just musing out loud here.

Hi Serenity Thanks for you post I like your musing it made me think of this.

Lev 9:9  And the sons of Aaron brought the blood unto him: and he dipped his finger in the blood, and put it upon the horns of the altar, and poured out the blood at the bottom of the altar:

Those who John saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, I think the blood represents the spirit which is the blood of the body of Christ the life is in the blood. I think the OT ritual of pouring out the blood under the alter represents all those slain for the word of God from Able up to the present day they were sacrificed and there blood the spirit poured out under the alter.
