I can only conclude - that there must be a time in eternity when God created the angels and when God began creating.

Therefore there must be a time and a beginning and activities in eternity - re : seasons and intervals/waves - in which things were created.

However time as in : aging and time within "what we perceive as time" cannot exist.

And also that as God is Light - there could be no darkness in Him [sin] or darkness as in day or night defined by the stars or sequence of the sun and orbit.

As God was before all of this. @Copernicus B

Creation equals time. Pre creation equals no time. So long as God intends there to be "Creation" (New or old - Things existing that he has created) then there will always be a sense or perception of time. I think it`s the non material element that makes it "Timeless" so to speak. Like I said, it`s only physical objects that create time as we understand it, the distance between two objects and the time it takes to go from one to the other. Remove the physical aspect and make it purely a mental projection, then you go from one to the other in an instant. On the other hand, I haven`t got a clue what I talking about, because I cannot understand eternity. I can only understand the physical in my present physical state of being. I only know that when that is removed there will be no physical restrictions. I personally believe that the "New heavens and the new earth" will be a mental projection of God, because for it to be "Eternal", the physical must be removed or not there. But that projection will be every bit as real as what we feel now, and infinitely more real. Feeling the wind on your face, the heat of the sun, the taste of food, the embrace of a loved one. And yet again, I have no clue what I`m talking about, and neither does anyone else. I`m merely surmising based on the little knowledge I have. We will one day know for sure.

Yes but satan was cast down at creation after satan had rebelled

Thus darkness came into the world

Hi TJs
I don't think this it correct if it is how could Satan appear before God in Job I believe satan was cast down when Jesus ascended into Heaven.

Hi Indwelt you said
how can separate Gen from Rev, one and the same story - See more at: http://www.1faith.co.uk/bible-buddies/book-of-revelation-discussion-chapter-by-chapter/152/#sthash.iv7M1Mp7.dpuf

I don't think we should try to separate genesis and revelations I believe Genesis tells the history of the human race from when God first created us as human beings to when he will complete his creation of man in his image which is Christ united with his bride the church.
Revelations is the the story of the creation of man in the image of God this is a spiritual creation I believe its based on Genesis 2 the creation of Adam and eve.

Love and peace

  I don't have much to say,but just wanted to join in.
And I see the thread has moved on beyond this post. And supposed to be about REV not creation, BUT, If there was no darkness before creation, why did God say " Let there be LIGHT!"?  And, as it was the beginning of Creation, I don't see that statement/command as just a spiritual pronouncement, but both.    :D

mmm  @Indwelt  that got me thinking [God's speaking was the "Word = Jesus" and the Light that came into the world =Jesus and the natural light]

So how could darkness exist before creation  = Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. 3And God said, ?Let there be light,? and there was light. 4God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. 5God called the light ?day,? and the darkness he called ?night.? And there was evening, and there was morning?the first day.

What was this darkness ...no sun  or no son !

Can't be the latter

If satan was not cast down at creation - then he could not have appeared to Adam and Eve [in the form of a serpent]  @davetaff
