I disagree, there is time in heaven. I believe there is a sense of time, night and day and so forth, only that there is no end to the scope of time, because there is no physicality in heaven. It is only the physical world that creates time as "We" understand it, the space/distance between two points and the time it takes to traverse the two points. Take away the physical aspect and make it a mental projection only, the two points can be traversed in an instant. The new heaven will not consist of the material but will still be a projection of the mind of God, creating a sense of distance, a sense of "from here to there" Sitting down, standing up, eating (Not sure about sleeping since that`s essentially down to the physical) I think that`s why John can validly say "For half an hour" about heaven. Just my opinion mind you, but I think it makes sense.

I remember my bro in law stating "God lives outside of time"

After all - how can eternity and time live within the same dimension ?

Once all things are wrapped up and the old earth becomes the new earth then God would be our light  and we would be in eternity [outside of time]

If we are in time - then that time could only be defined by the activity and daily lifes we live on the new earth ?

Why would God's light suddenly go out ! and why would darkness [defined by the sun which is no more and moon which has ceased - continue]

Unless of course the universe /solar system and all we know continues as "restored"!

Interesting revelation here - as to how time and eternity can be in the same dimension .

As time means an end and being created means a beginning  - as death means "new birth"

If time is to be valid in our new life , then it must mean points between activity .

Other wise we would age and get old.

Well God existed before He created, and part of that creation was the light and darkness bit

Yes but satan was cast down at creation after satan had rebelled

Thus darkness came into the world

Right so when then satan is destroyed, and there will be no more darkness because of that, then time wouldn't exist.

Yes I believe there has to be an element of time in and on the new earth and in heaven now

However not the 24 hour clock
