I misunderstood you Dave. I'm sorry about that and thanks for explaining.

Thank you too, Francis, for making logical sense of something I was puzzling over. That helps a lot :)

Hi
Not a problem Dawn I often have problems making myself understood .

Moving on I was reading the following passages last night and something jumped out sorry if its a bit out of sequence but it seamed important.

Rev 19:13  And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
Rev 19:14  And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
Rev 19:15  And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
Rev 19:16  And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
Rev 19:17  And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;
Rev 19:18  That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.
Rev 19:19  And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.
Rev 19:20  And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
Rev 19:21  And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

Sorry its such a long passage but did not no how to shorten it.
The point I'm trying to make is the one sitting on the white horse is Christ the sword is the word of God.
The Beast and the false prophet are taken then verse Rev 19:21 says the remnant were slain with the Sword. what dose that mean dose it mean they were slain with the word of God Dose it mean that all those following Christ (Maybe those who came through the rapture) will preach the gospel to the remnant how many that will be nobody knows Will they be slain as we were when we were baptised and reborn.
I think that sounds better than Christ going around on his white horse chopping peoples heads of don't you.

Love and Peace
Dave

Revelation 19:21 NLT Their entire army was killed by the sharp sword that came from the mouth of the one riding the white horse. And the vultures all gorged themselves on the dead bodies.

This is referring to verse 19  -

Revelation 19:19  Then I saw the beast and the kings of the world and their armies gathered together to fight against the one sitting on the horse and his army.

We see here that the Lord Jesus on the White Horse fights against those opposing Him and will always - see : http://www.1faith.co.uk/safeplace-for-newbie-and-wannabie-christians/blasphemy-against-the-holy-spirit/msg53809/#msg53809

Hi all
Thanks for your replies some very interesting points made I was wondering how long will the saints reign and judge with Christ for we read in this verse.

Rev 20:6  Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

Who will they reign over, who will they judge this is part of the first resurrection will there still be unbelievers and sinners in the world to judge then comes the second resurrection will they judge them as well.

Back to the throne room

 Rev 4:7  And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.
Rev 4:8  And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.

!!

What do these beast represent
The lion , the lion of Judah maybe through which our lord came.
The calf, an ox represents Israel
The beast with the face of a man, the son of man
The eagle, The son of man ascending to heaven.
the eye's representing God watching mankind
six wings don't have a clue anyone have any suggestions.

Love and Peace
Dave

We now go onto Revelation  4:7  And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.
Rev 4:8  And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.

Now lets unpack this - multiply it - and reveal its meaning..........

Now John had this vision and was now taken up to the Throne room of God.

He see's many things he cannot describe properly in words and one of them is the worship around the Throne.

Going back in bible time - Ezekiel has a similiar vision  and see's the four Cherubim before the Throne ...

Ezekiel 1:9-10  their wings touched one another; their faces did not turn when they moved, each went straight forward. 10As for the
form of their faces, each had the face of a man; all four had the face of a lion on the right and the face of a bull on
 the left, and all four had the face of an eagle. 11Such were their faces. Their wings were spread out above; each had
two touching another being, and two covering their bodies.

We see that the four Cherubim mentioned have four faces Ezekiel 10:14;

Interesting that these were the "living beings" guarding the Tree of Life Genesis 3:24;

Not to sure what you are saying I'm saying that Christ on his white horse with the sword of truth the word of God will take on all the armies of satan and defeat them with the word of God and the Gospel.
Or are you saying Christ will physical kill them and feed them to the birds bit gruesome don't you think.

Love and Peace

Yes this is the Sword "the Word of God" John 1:1;

We have  to remember that this is all figurative/symbolic - much like a dream and this is hebrew imagery at work here / which Jesus used when speaking to the Jews in parables and pictures.

Revelation 19:18  so that you may eat the flesh of kings, generals, and the mighty, of horses and their riders, and the
 flesh of all people, free and slave, great and small."

This is a bit like comparing with Ezekiel 39:17  "Son of man, this is what the Sovereign LORD says: Call out to every kind of bird and all the wild  animals: 'Assemble and come together from all around to the sacrifice I am preparing for you, the great sacrifice
 on the mountains of Israel. There you will eat flesh and drink blood. 18"You will eat the flesh of mighty men
 and drink the blood of the princes of the earth,

Yet another example of what is meant here ,might be seen in Deuteronomy 6:11  houses filled with all kinds of good things you did not provide, wells you did not dig, and vineyards and olive groves you did not plant--then when you eat and are satisfied,

It a bit like the valleys being lifted up and the mountains being lowered

Or where we meet at the feast of the lamb to eat and sit in places we never deserved and rejoice in a salvation we never worked for.

Its like taking the head of a king and giving that place to a servant or feasting at the table of Kings even though we are slaves ?

And so we see "metaphors"  as in "heads" and "blood"

And we will eat at the feast of the Lamb because Christ's blood was shed for us.

Or might be likened to "their heads/head taken"

He is the Head and has the headship.

We have to grasp the time and people and ways/comprehension/context/ of this - as John would have seen it.

As John saw the Cherubim seated around the Throne ! how did John see them seated ? and the One who sits on the Throne ?

How does God sit ! how does Jesus ride a white horse for that matter /we are now in the Spiritual realm !

I suppose in one sense you have the things that John see's  and on the other hand you have the Visionary doorway to things past/present and future.

Revelatiions 19 here is a different kettle of fish to how John saw the Cherubim in Revelation 4

We are trying to run before we can walk here

And we are still on revelation 4

And isn't that often the problem where I get excited and try to run and fall over ?

This is often a problem with the book of revelation - its annoying because we have to wait
