The answer is "Elisha"
1 Kings 19:19 19 Elijah went straight out and found Elisha son of Shaphat in a field where there were twelve pairs of
yoked oxen at work plowing; Elisha was in charge of the twelfth pair. Elijah went up to him and threw his cloak over him.
God has placed a mantle, a call, upon every person in Christ 1 Peter 4:10-11; - we receive the baton in the race and we respond...by running
The Mantle - Cloak - Robe - imputed..................
Deuteronomy 3:21 as Moses passed the baton to Joshua
Psalm 25:1-3 To Thee, O Lord, I lift up my soul. O my God, in Thee I trust, Do not let me be ashamed; Do not let my enemies exult over me. Indeed, none of those who wait for Thee will be ashamed; Those who deal treacherously without cause will be ashamed.
Now seek out David and his son Absalom
See what happened to all these people of God, as Moses faces the korah rebellion and Elijah and Elisha face difficult times.
At times it seemed as if the world was against them - but we see the baton being passed onto God.
PS - both Elijah and enoch were transported - Elijah had to be taken away, before Elisha took the baton, otherwise he would
have been disqualified from the race.
Once one person hands over the baton - the other begins to run - if the first continues he is disqualified from the race... and that cannot happen
How many batons are passed on in scripture ?
