Ezekiel was a ________.

Psalm 96:1-6 Sing to the Lord a new song; Sing to the Lord, all the earth. Sing to the Lord, bless His name; Proclaim good tidings of His salvation from day to day. Tell of His glory among the nations, His wonderful deeds among all the peoples. For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; He is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the peoples are idols, But the Lord made the heavens. Splendor and majesty are before Him, Strength and beauty are in His sanctuary.

Man.

Yes a man and a Priest  :D

Ezekiel was a Priest  -  parallel with 1 Peter 2:9:

Ezekiel 1:3  the word of the LORD came to Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, by the Kebar River in the land of the Babylonians. There the hand of the LORD was on him.

Remember the four living creatures ?

Ezekiel 2:1 He said to me, ?Son of man,a stand up on your feet and I will speak to you.? 2As he spoke, the Spirit came into me and raised me to my feet, and I heard him speaking to me.

Now be transported in time  into the future [or as in God the present] Revelation 4:8  Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under its wings. Day and night they never stop saying: "'Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty,' who was, and is, and is to come."

Here we have the lion ,the calf - the man and the eagle.....

Ezekiel was a Priest of the Most High - and  in his time and the Spirit came into him past tense.....

Ezekiel lived before eternity [yet eternity existed before Ezekiel]

Now lets travel back in our time again to Psalm 96:1-6 Sing to the Lord a new song; Sing to the Lord, all the earth.

Well this has me thinking about what was talking about in last couple of weeks about our spirits being out of time, when communing with God's spirit.

Therefore, if our spirits are out of time when communing with God, then whether its OT or NT or present day saints, all commune with God.

Here we have the lion ,the calf - the man and the eagle...

This had me think of Jesus.

Jesus the Lion, protecting His church/flock/herd...
Jesus the calf, the ultimate sacrifice for mankind, slain before the foundation of the earth...
Jesus the man, who came to earth to set us free from our bondages and law of sin...
Jesus the eagle, who has us fly above our storms, trials and no wind or storm can take you down when you are protected and in the shadows of His wings.

Which has me thinking about what we been talking about on here about preparing a way for the Lord, sending out the praises, bringing the tent or tabernacles of love, where you have your sanctuary, keeping it close.

Just found the following reply from another thread a couple of years ago which goes with what I was saying about Jesus and the four living creatures, interesting:
Quote
I remember the first time I heard this preached on? the meanings of these four living beings. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John each having a different revelation of The Son of God.

Matthew speaks of the first living being, which is a lion. The lion is the king of the animals, and accordingly Matthew sees Jesus as a king.

Mark speaks of the second living being, the ox, which is a servant animal. He sees Jesus as the servant, the exact opposite of a king.

Quote helen

Luke, speaks of Christ as the third living being. He sees Jesus as a man. Luke was a doctor, concerned with people, so it's easy to see  that he would view Jesus in this way. Only Luke gives us all the human details of Jesus? birth. He tells the story of Gabriel?s visit to Mary and her conception. Only Luke mentions the inn at Bethlehem and the manger where Jesus first slept.

John?s gospel corresponds to the fourth living being, the flying eagle. The eagle belongs to the heavens and so represents God. John sees Jesus as God. The other three beings are creatures of the earth. As we would expect, John?s gospel is very different from those of Matthew, Mark and Luke.

Matthew and Luke both have an earthly birth story and a genealogy. John can't do that. As God does not have such things. Instead he gives a heavenly birth story.
