The Voice of Truth

Col3

15Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.

Matt11

28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

These things too shall pass...

Lord in the noise, help me to be still
In the chaos, help me be still
In my seeking, help me be still
In my challenges, help me be still
In my joy, help me be still
In my sadness, help me be still
In my pain, help me be still

Through all the days of my life, help me be still...

Don't know about anyone else, but sometimes it can feel like in the middle of WW3 with the mind.  During these times its very easy, too easy, to listen to the lies of satan in the mind.  Too easy because they tend to have an element of truth in them or sailing very close to the wind of truth, tricking you into losing focus and even believing the lies.

I can be weak and struggle, but then in my weakness He is my strength.

Satan can have your mind stop after the first half of that truth and have you feeling your just weak.  Just like he can have you stop at being in the water with no help, so you think your going to drown, only if the truth was told in its entirety, or seen/known in its entirety, we all know Jesus doesn't let us sink beneath the waves.  This is a subtlety I have noticed recently, that it isn't necessarily direct lies satan whispers, but half truth's.

I don't believe that if God was to speak to me it would have me feeling negative, down etc...but that you would be left uplifted, calm and at peace.  If you are left feeling lost, bewildered, rejected, alone, not good enough (insert any negativity here) then can be assured that voice is not from God!

The battle seems to be constant, always happening.  So each day if I get the negativity, I can refer to God's stamp on the lies, or spiritual affirmations to drive out the lies, or counteract them.

I found the following which I thought was really good in helping battle the lies.  I thought it might be a good idea if we could look at these points to help understand some of the ways in which we can be tricked.

We shouldn't allow satan to try and steal anything or let him think we have lost something of God, when God is the one constant in all this melee of life at times.  I don't think we should just leave it up to God to deal with either, how we react or how we allow these lies to sink in makes all the difference.  We have choices, we can choose life, light, truth....or darkness, death and lies.

Which and whom are you going to choose? ...today me and my house choose to serve the Lord!

With all these voices running amuck as thoughts in our heads, we have a choice to make. We could grab that God-spoken truth and let it change the course of our day, or stay right where we are and wallow in the lies.   Onwards and upwards!

The following are just examples of the lies/negativity/et al...if you have any others please add them to the list!

Satan's Voice                                                  God's Voice

Obsesses                                                          Calms

Worries                                                            Comforts

Condemns                                                        Convicts

Discourages                                                     Encourages

Confuses                                                          Enlightens

Pushes                                                             Leads

Frightens                                                          Reassures

Rushes                                                             Stills

For the Spirit God gave us does NOT make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline

If the spirit you are feeling is of timidity and not of power, love and self-discipline, what do you think you should do?  own our own faith and not let the enemy steal it!

Romans 12

2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God?s will is?his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Self can scream out against God's truths because of the influence of the enemy.  Our self listens to either God or the enemy, the enemy is wily.  In times where we are screaming out unable to connect to Gods truth...our spirits response IS Gods truth and affirmation.  This then will be our armour and weapons against the lies of satan and his demons.

You shall be restored, transformed by the renewal of your mind.

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.

Put your treasure in God's Truth and Affirmations, don't take your treasure in satan's lies.

Jesus said, "....you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

So if truth sets you free, then lies must put you in prison!

Deuteronomy 31

6Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake
.

Therefore one simple way to get freedom is to replace Satan's lies with God's truths.

*Draw me to Your presence oh Lord, bring me into that Holy place...so I may see Your glory, the beauty of thy face...one thing I ask of You oh Lord, the desire of my heart...that I may live in Your temple oh Lord, from this day forward

Another way maybe is creating your own psalms, something like the one from other day:

Father thank You soo much for the Love you bestow me
As my soul gets pulled from side to side, with the fight in life, Your Love always sustains me

My perseverance comes through Your Love, it strengthens me more and more each day
As enemies seek to devour me, with their words and actions, i am reminded of Your love

How loving my enemies, delivers me from my enemies
No matter how close the enemy feels they can get, You are far closer

Thank You for hiding me in the shadow of Your wings and keeping me for the rest of my days on this earth
How i long for the day we will finally meet face to face, spending eternity with You

Thank You for being my Father

FEED YOUR FAITH, AND DOUBT WILL STARVE TO DEATH

'These things shall pass' ... the ultimate Promise of God, the end result of everything that was, is and will be.

:)  Sword of the Spirit - [todays message] armour of God

I used to know someone who went thro a daily pantomime of putting on the various bits of armour. He thought it made him safe from demonic attack. I pointed out that his wardrobe assistant was probably Satan laughing whilst he handed the bits over.

Putting the armour on isn't holding an imaginary shield up, or waving an imaginary sword at an imaginary demon. Its means taking the words of God and striking back at what the particular demon is saying that has bound you.
Disturb us Lord, when we are too pleased with ourselves. When our dreams have come true because we dreamed too little. When we arrived safely because we sailed too close to the shore. Disturb us Lord, to dare more boldly. To venture on wider seas. Where storms will show your mastery; Where, losing sight of land, we shall find the stars. We ask you to push back the horizons of our hopes; And to push into the future, in strength, courage, hope and love.                     (SIR FRANCIS DRAKE 1577)

How do we look at scripture? do we take it on face value, literally, or do we question what we read? do we delve deeper into the scriptures to find something we hadn't seen before? seeking the deeper meaning, looking for the connections, the undercurrents, the signs that point to the deeper mystery?

Do we trust and wait on the Lord patiently? whatever we are going through in life, do we trust that God is with us throughout it? do we feel that the load/burden is shared so halved? do we battle in the waves of the storms or do we let Jesus take our hands to take us out of it? do we soar above the waves on eagles wings?

Do we listen for Gods guidance? do we seek it out, or do we go our own way? assume Gods guidance or answers?

Why did Jesus take the 3 He did to the Transfiguration? imagine what they were thinking having seen Moses and Elijah with Jesus, the cloud through which God spoke and the prophets had disappeared..

Lord let it be You that transforms me and not of myself....from the inside out, a new creation...Christ within me working from the inside out, moving from glory to glory, working as part of the body doing my role and not wanting on another, for the body to work fully, keeping my eyes on the goal and running the race to win, and not tripping up by the bystanders wishing to bring me down, ignoring the bad and embracing the good, let me not be afraid of the future to have peace in my heart, in Your name Jesus, so be it

My children, do not fear all the things happening in the world or around you. Be steadfast and trust Me, do not fear anything or anybody. Man can only kill your body not your soul. Be willing to die for Me and My Kingdom. Do not love your own life more than Me, then you will lose it.

Why are you afraid of your future? Your future is with Me. I am in control and know
all the plans I have for you, they are good not bad. I want to build you up not tear you down. Do not be afraid of the unknown, trust Me. I know what is yet to come, nothing is hidden from Me. I know the end from the beginning already.

Stay with Me, follow Me and you will never be in darkness. I am faithful, I change not. I am able to do the impossible in any situation, nothing is too hard for Me. Trust Me fully.

My child, now is the time to be bold, steadfast and fearless, do not be afraid of anything. You know Me, I am with you to the end and will not leave you nor forsake you. He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. Do not be afraid, trust Me.

Back in Jesus's time, people tended to either love him or hate him, there wasn't much middle ground.  Equally they could within moments go from loving him to hating him wanting him dead!  Jesus challenged their religious ways, or preconceived ideas, to step out of the box, very radical for the time.  He took the position of a Rabbi, sitting down to teach, he challenged them in their thoughts, their actions, their ways.  Much as He does today...

Lord i pray that You wipe out any falsehoods which may be deep rooted in my life, the religiously taught words and ways, You are the Way the Truth and the Light, pray You guide me forever more onwards and upwards towards You with Truth.  I pray that i dont fight the process in my heart, mind and soul, as you refresh, restore and renew me from the inside out...Amen

Quote

Luke 5

5 One day as Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret,[a] the people were crowding around him and listening to the word of God. 2 He saw at the water?s edge two boats, left there by the fishermen, who were washing their nets. 3 He got into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon, and asked him to put out a little from shore. Then he sat down and taught the people from the boat.

4 When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, ?Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.?

5 Simon answered, ?Master, we?ve worked hard all night and haven?t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.?

6 When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break. 7 So they signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them, and they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink.

8 When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus? knees and said, ?Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!? 9 For he and all his companions were astonished at the catch of fish they had taken, 10 and so were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, Simon?s partners.

Then Jesus said to Simon, ?Don?t be afraid; from now on you will fish for people.? 11 So they pulled their boats up on shore, left everything and followed him.

So having had another probable poor time of catching fish, albeit loving their work no doubt, but their efforts not bringing anything in, warily listening to Jesus, once they did 'turn their eyes upon Jesus' the nets bulged....some things with just human effort come to no fruition, with responding to God things happen, immensely so!  that immense and of a revelation, brings you to your knees, humbles you, removes pride.  Its all about Jesus, through Him all things were made, through Him all things can be reconciled to God.

The call for service for God, whatever vocation, action or event comes from God first, not the person.  Often where we live and work.  I have so many times seen people thinking that 'worthwhile' service is for places like Africa or Honduras or places where social action is more apparantly needed, but then who is your neighbour? the other side of the world or where you live and work?  We dont need to go places to seek God out, God finds you, seek and you shall find too...you just dont need to put mileage in to do the seeking, you can seek on the spot!

Here I am, Lord... Open my heart to hear you speak to me today....Open my mind that I may respond to your call, remove any barriers and walls that prevent me fully walking in your way, truth and light...may my heart, mind and soul lay prostrate before You, praise to You Lord Jesus Christ, all power and glory are Yours forever and ever, Amen.

You're the hope in the morning
You're the light when the night is falling
You're the song when my heart is singing
It's your love
You're the eyes to the blind man
You're the feet to the lame man walking
You're the sound to the people singing
It's your love
