But when was this the first group filling ?

As in assembly / congregation ?

???
I don't understand your point TJs. I don't see anyone making that claim nor its relevance.
Disturb us Lord, when we are too pleased with ourselves. When our dreams have come true because we dreamed too little. When we arrived safely because we sailed too close to the shore. Disturb us Lord, to dare more boldly. To venture on wider seas. Where storms will show your mastery; Where, losing sight of land, we shall find the stars. We ask you to push back the horizons of our hopes; And to push into the future, in strength, courage, hope and love.                     (SIR FRANCIS DRAKE 1577)

I'm asking a question =  "Was this the first time a group of people had the Holy Spirit come down upon them and give them the abilities needed to begin outreaching and growing"

If it's not individual filling - then I am asking / is it corporate ?

What was the purpose of pentecost ?

There are various biblical references showing that individuals and groups were Spirit filled, in the old testament. Found through Google.

I did wonder what the purpose of Pentecost was.
Probably the Spirit of Christ united His people, who were from different cultural experiences. That it was an outpouring, to revive them for their mission of the gospel. That's how it should be!
May have marked the ascension of Christ, as well.
Possibly.?

I did enjoy reading Luke 1. I was thinking more of what Mary said on the announcement of her pregnancy and saw prior to that event that it was foretold that John the Baptist will be Spirit filled, before he was born. I really wasn't expecting to find that. Yet it also backed up that babies can be born again, before they are born.

Yes yes and yes again.

We need to keep banging that drum because it challenges the false evangelism that has dominated the church since the dark ages.

Jesus gave the great commission before He ascended and that is to spread the gospel. Matthew 28:18-20
Surely adults become born again, as well as babies. Yet it takes a humble heart, to respond to the wooing of Gods Holy Spirit and Jesus did say that we need to be like children to enter the kingdom of God.
I know that most people do not respond. I wonder if there are some who are, but they fall away. Now its been discovered that babies can be born again in the womb. I didn't have an opinion about this before, because I wanted to seek the truth. Only found the scripture about John the Baptist and it jumped out on me, if you know what I mean!
The Holy Spirit descended on Jesus like a Dove before His ministry. Perhaps likewise on the Body of Christ (His people) when He ascended, on Pentecost, commencing the revived new testament church, for the great commission of the gospel, with power.

So we are nolonger to preach the gospel or seek to talk to people about Jesus.
If that is false evangelism, please explain what true evangelism is?
