No, we are not necessarily called to trust people.
If I find a close friend has stolen cash from me. I might forgive him, but it will take time before I let him near my money.
Disturb us Lord, when we are too pleased with ourselves. When our dreams have come true because we dreamed too little. When we arrived safely because we sailed too close to the shore. Disturb us Lord, to dare more boldly. To venture on wider seas. Where storms will show your mastery; Where, losing sight of land, we shall find the stars. We ask you to push back the horizons of our hopes; And to push into the future, in strength, courage, hope and love.                     (SIR FRANCIS DRAKE 1577)

Yes I agree. Sound wisdom.   I see a difference between forgiving and trust. Something s might be that we can never trust a person if they really are that untrustworthy.  Doesn't mean we dont have Gods love. Just to be wise and well balanced.
In my opinion forgiveness and trust are different things and get confused to be the same thing.

I liked both replies here.

I'm thinking you should trust God over people any day...but sometimes, people's actions, especially within a 'Christian setting', can cloud that, and push people towards mistrusting everyone and God.  Not everyone is able to make the difference between trusting God and trusting people...they get intermingled.  Does that make sense?

Yeah if God is using you to reach out to people - then the two would be included in the final resulting distrust

Sometimes you can be "doing"! The Word -  only to have it rebound on you

Reminds me of the early Christians - I suppose it goes past that and deeper

It must do John 16:33;

I can forgive but not trust - the self that gets in the way is to protect myself from future hurt

We remember but we forgive

But although we stay away from something and learn from the past [as from the bible] that does not mean we always  mistrust

It simply means we move on - as avoid or stay  away from trouble - that's simply a human avoidance system

Hoping God is using a team . Many of the people added to the faithwalk group on facebook have been outreach es to others.

Well hope something comes out of it . Seen things rebound many times to be honest.

I think some of you know what I mean. Do you feel incredibly shy to say or write things but just do it anyway, sort of outside of your boundary s. Im so shy and thats my reputation and so it sort of shocks people.  Not doing it for attention like a church said In the past.Really going against what my nature is to be in a shell.
Know youve done this before.

O yes I identify with you

But God can give boldness

Moses was trained in the law, but really did not believe in himself..

After running to his "city on a hill"  in fact there were six cities of refuge The Six Cities Of Refuge

This city of refuge was like "a beacon light" a Light to the path or a "lamp to the feet"

Moses ran to his father Jethro after 40 years after his initial training anf after another 40 years was ready to lead = so at the age of 80 God used him and implanted him into the bible as part of what we now know as scripture

Moses was the least likely person to be a leader , but God reverses things and turns things upside down
