God knows us inside out but I think that sometimes He may enable  us be tempted by the devil to test us and in a way that we are aware . There may be something that needs conviction.  Only the devil will make us feel condemned.

 In the case of Jesus it was a testimony to make others aware of how he defeated the devil, when in the wildernesses.

Matthew 6:13; And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.' Matthew 26:41;

And so when we believe we are standing firm 1 Corinthians 15:58; - [the destroyer death and sting] being the context here
and see ; 1 Corinthians 16:13; stand firm then as the lion prowls around - 1 Peter 5:8; therefore submit to Christ and stand firm !

James 4:7; so that temptation does not overcome [but be an overcomer] 2 Corinthians 2:11; as in 1 Corinthians 10:12 - 13; So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don?t fall!

1. Thus the Holy Spirit that came down in the form of a Dove - descending upon Jesus at His baptism  - then  leading  Jesus the Son into the wilderness and temptations - BEFORE the public demonstrations of the power of the Father and the Son's earthly ministry began [marking the beginning of the ministry of Christ] "as if it ever had a beginning or ending !

2. 1 Corinthians 10:13; being a past lesson in Israels history - where although they all followed Christ and were all baptised [being led by the Holy Spirit after their baptism in the cloud and sea into Moses being led by a figure called Moses and Christ Himself [the Son} many at this time came into temptation and were overcome by it - falling  in the wilderness - Numbers 21:8; even with the golden serpent being in their sight, many were brought down by the serpents sting and verse 9 We should not test Christ, as some of them did?and were killed by snakes. 10 And do not grumble, as some of them did?and were killed by the destroying angel.

Which brings us back to  Mark 4:15; Some people are like seed along the path, where the word is sown. As soon as they  hear it, Satan comes and takes away the word that was sown in them.

Now compare : Genesis 40:17-19; In the top basket were all kinds of baked goods for Pharaoh, but the birds were eating  them out of the basket on my head."

Therefore the butler was hung on a pole/tree after three days Joshua 10:26;

Therefore by looking at the serpent on the pole - we are provided with a way of escape - o death were is thy sting ? the sting  of death is sin = 1 Corinthians 15:55-56;

Now compare with Hosea 13:14-15;

And so in a way that answers the question - of =

Quote
God leads us into temptation and satan tempts ? is that the way it works

As those in the past have been led into the wilderness as Jesus was and finding temptation many were brought down - however Jesus was not. and that is the closing clause

So lets ask ! concerning Revelation 20:13-15;

All the  people were saved -  but who were the ones surviving the second death  ?

1. the ones who fell in the wilderness ?

2. Or the ones that made it to the end but never entered the promised land ?

[who were delivered from the evil one ?]
