I particularly like these bits (see below), but enjoyed reading the whole thing :D

'So Jacob is named "Israel" "one who perserveres, struggles, prevails,

Or One who is upright and righteous

To struggle with God yes, how many here struggle with God ?

Is your marraige always just right, you never argue do you ? you never struggle ...do you ?

Of course we struggle with God and thus we have a limp , the great "leg puller" has us in the palm of His Hand'

Aye @Seeker  :D

I cannot remember what was going through me  and that study was a long time ago.

But that study was contentious and was meant to be so..

It was taking a still picture of "Jacob taking the place of Esau" as too "Jesus takes our place"

So Isaac looked at Jacob and saw Esau - as God looks at us and see's Jesus.

However this still image/ picture/parallel/metaphor/shadow/representation/type/symbol...is not complete and neither does it collate or continue through scripture [the same as most] as a picture is frozen in time.

We all  know that God is not a liar and neither is He a manipulator.

The only correlation here is "God looks at us and see's Jesus"

And so Jacob stole the birthright from esau and became the father of the ten tribes of Israel...

Now we idenitify with these things and people as we identify with images in our minds.

But these metaphors are still images and they only last as long as the flash in the camera.

As Isaac went to sacrifice his son "Isaac" [which is a type of Christ]

Obviously Isaac was a shadow/type/metaphor/of Christ but he was not because as the story changes so we see other types and metaphors.

If Isaac had been sacrificed then there would be no ten tribes of Israel and no Israel.

These are still images taken at a time and place - but cannot be carried through.

All they do is to link the Old and the New Testaments together and might link to our own lives as we see a link between scripture and us = eg: I am a prodigal son.. [which tells me that I am like Israel] and so we go back and into the circle.

whereas if God speaks now as He did then ?  you see - If I do not know scripture then all thias is mumbo jombo and most non believers do not  always study  scripture. [it needs God's Spirit]

And so these people [chosen by God "Abraham  - Isaac and Jacob]  heard God speak into their lives - but they had no clue what it would mean in 2016 or how it would all add up . [as it was an incomplete jigsaw to them  - so it continues to be an incomplete jigsaw for us]

Now looking back we can see the entire view of scripture [but scripture is incomplete]- but even now we only see as  through  a dim  mirrror...as they did.

I am not stating that we should stop looking at scripture or that we should not stop finding links between the old and the new

But rather "that there is more than this" and as we delve deeper then our lives begin to link together with scripture and we begin to walk up the ladder ourselves...

That's the ladder sometimes and by product of spiritual awareness.  You dont just sense and experience the glory glory...you sense and experience or can be oppressed by the warts n all.

This said though, resist the devil and he will flee and where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty.

Sensing, feeling, experiencing, being affected and oppressed in the various methods of bombardment does not have to be the thing that you give in to...climb back up that ladder mon ami.

Yes your getting my drift

I can only focus now on "keep all your thoughts captive to Christ"

Everyting that has happened in my life has to go - including the spiritual attack - I have to start again - to survive

These days window cleaners use poles  - but yeah I'm reclimbing. [have problems with ,my legs these days - due to four years of sciatica and constanr burning and aching in my legs - not good when you are a window cleaner.] now I get away with it - by using a pole.. [still not what I was]

As I said  many years ago - your lookng at a still image - locked in time..

Your life is not a still image.. or even a video of what was..

Remember what I said about "the enemy attacking through your closest and even your own  family - i did'nt know that I was prophesying my  own future [many things I cannot share on the interweb]

Yeah the upside down Kingdom.. [ that was the first Church house group I ever took] based on a book called "the upside down Kingdom"

The business that God began over 36 years ago became a nightmare.. what began as a blessing...

You know I'm still paying for the "Shilow The City Of Refuge" mistake..I still have 5000.00 to pay off - [anyway that's another story. [still costs me 130.0 per month]hoping it will be gone by the the I'm 65 ...

Still we bring up our Grandchild - bless him.  [ what a journey - it would take ten thousand pages to even begin to tell you my life story]....
