It's never about ujst believing, we have tgo respond to the message. Repentance is not only saying sorry to God, but changing our life style.

I agree John.

But then equally if you 'just believe' would you not naturally as a by product of that, change?

In order to believe, you just have to turn around and walk away from your unbelief. That's what repent means, to turn around or change direction.
Repent does not mean being sorry!

Metanoe?: to change one's mind or purpose
Original Word: μετανοέω
Part of Speech: Verb
Transliteration: metanoe?
Phonetic Spelling: (met-an-o-eh'-o)
Short Definition: I repent, change my mind
Definition: I repent, change my mind, change the inner man (particularly with reference to acceptance of the will of God), repent.
HELPS Word-studies
3340 metano?ō (from 3326 /met?, "changed after being with" and 3539 /noi?ō, "think") ? properly, "think differently after," "after a change of mind"; to repent (literally, "think differently afterwards").

The idea of feeling sorry is just religious tradition.
When I gave my life to the Lord, I was excited at what I had found, the reality of a relationship with the creator God. I didn't stop to think of guilt or sorrow. His love overwhelmed me.
Later as I walked with God, he then started to convict me of my various ungodly attitudes and behaviour, and I started to deal with it under God's loving guidance.
Disturb us Lord, when we are too pleased with ourselves. When our dreams have come true because we dreamed too little. When we arrived safely because we sailed too close to the shore. Disturb us Lord, to dare more boldly. To venture on wider seas. Where storms will show your mastery; Where, losing sight of land, we shall find the stars. We ask you to push back the horizons of our hopes; And to push into the future, in strength, courage, hope and love.                     (SIR FRANCIS DRAKE 1577)

There is a difference between an intellectual believe and a belief that is lived.
