What do we do with the truth?
Depends whether we can face or accept the truth. If we accept it then it brings us salvation and we have to show that same truth to those who don't know or reject the truth.
Quote

For a person is able to accept the truth, doesn't he have to have at least an idea of what truth is? The more of truth that a person actually knows when he decides to reject it, the more likely it is that he will be reprobate (sin against the Holy Ghost?) with no further Hope of redemption.

The reason there are probably not many reprobates is that most believers are a mixed bag, with some truth and some ways of men (lies) contained in their beliefs. Remember that scripture speaks of every man being a liar. This is not, I believe, speaking only of unbelievers. This is why a person must always careful about deciding that he is right and the other guy is wrong. If even part of what he believes is wrong, then to the extent he is wrong, is he not a liar?

If we're not seeking to do this can we be said to have received the truth?

Can someone who is unable to stop sinning have all of the truth? Perhaps one who still sins after his first belief needs to continue searching...

Do we need to understand what we receive or accept?
hildren accept many things that adualts tell them and Jesus praised the trusting faith of children.

Just as we don't have to understand so we also don't have to instantly change from sinner to perfect saint at conversion.  We are sinners saved by grace and by Gods grace we are being changed, but that chage only is complete and perfect in our resurection body.

I expect to understand something to a degree which I am expected to understand, how else would I conclude a 'testing of things' if I don't come to a level of understanding?

Do we not need to be certain that what we are receiving or accepting is from God?

Yes!

Is not the change complete when we have overcome as Jesus overcame? Is there no resurrection occurring now within what we already have? If not, then what is the rebirth all about?

Is there not a new or inner man that should be replacing the "old man" while we are still here?

Will not the Lord always give us what is needed to accomplish what is needed? If understanding is needed to continue, will He forsake us? How did Gideon know when the number of soldiers was the correct number? He went from 32,000 to 300 in two steps.

I just don't see why I would have a question, or should have a question whirring round my grey cells, if i'm not meant to be finding out the answer.

I just simply have to know if my neighbor earns more at his job than I do. Will you help me with this God?

Clearly i dont mean non sensical questions, or inane questions, and didnt think i would need to spell that out here.  I'm quite able to sieve out the questions which are quite simply being nosy about my next door neighbour!!
