"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6

"And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" John 8:32

If we hear what others are saying and take it on as our own, is this a presumption or a revelation?

If we hear God speaking in out heart and take it on as our own, is this delusion or a revelation?

"And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:" II Thess 2:10-11

So as Pilate asked, what is truth?

What are we to do with it?

I  would suggest that the "Truith" sets us free and that it is not so much what we do with "truth" but what "The Truth" does with us

A bit like the potter sculpting a vessel

Rather than me sculpting and moulding the potter

or

Instead of me being made in Gods image

I make God in mine

...

just a few thoughts

The other side of the coin of course is where

2I may try to mould and sculpt another person into the image I like or want them to be !

you might see this at times where Christians might say "you should'nt do this or that"

Another image that I might project onto the screen of my idol is the minister or the leader

where I put him or her on a pedestal and my image of them is a false image

What I perceive to be the "truth" is indeed a lie

Because no human can be "God"

In this I can mould other people into my own precepts and moulds of idealic fantasy

much like a father who wants the son to be like him or to be someone that he never was

....

Ive seen it many times where a person becomes disillusioned with those in authority because they have been looking at the "Image" rather than at the "Truth"

"Ooooo    he was not what I thought he was...calls himself a minister ? "

This path of looking to people is the worng path and will always fail

"Its the "Truth" that sets us free"  and the "Truth" is Jesus

If you read the OP carefully you will that the answer to the title question is there. If we do not receive the love of truth, we will receive a delusion. We may not completely understand the truth, which is Jesus, but we are to love Him (it) anyway and later on...?

"For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known." I Cor 13:12

Can a human not be at least "god" in accord with God's will?

What was Moses?

"And the LORD said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet." Ex 7:1

And what is Jesus?

"And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.

And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.

But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom." Heb 1:6-8

And what are we to be?

"Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is." I John 3:2

Notice that I am only providing the scriptures with no interpretation. The interpretation to be correct must come from God to us.

What does it means for us to be like Jesus? God knows! How can we know unless He decides to tell us? He hasn't told me. So no conclusions here by me. Just food for thought and prayer.

Amazing Grace Video

RELATIONSHIP WILL SET YOU FREE

1. Yes the Love of truth

How might I explain Jesus to someone ? do I fully understand or comprehend ?

I know Him because I have experienced Him  , yet how can I explain a relationship ?

Can I explain my feelings ...or love ? or is it love which is explained by action ?

........................

TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE

2. The Truth to me might be the "word" as in "the bible" but even this is basic words brought to life through The Holy Spirit and only touches and skips over the surface of that dim mirror and merely shows me a poor reflection of the Truth

...................

THE WORD WILL SET YOU FREE

3. I might say " satan asked to sift Peter like wheat and that Peter was named "the Rock" and upon that Rock God built His Church...and that when God siad "Peter ......satan has asked to sift you"

That "you" here is plural and means a "group" or "the early Church Apostles"

I might tell you that satan no longer needs  permission to sift Gods people becasue that permm ission was already granted with peter long ago

And the "plural" meaning of the word "You" means that it applied and applies not just to the early Church but to all throughout generations and generations to come

So this permission is not a fixed permission in one instance but an ongoing  tense

..................

Now there is no way that you can prove or disprove this conjecture using scripture or the Logos word

However using the "Rhema word" I can say that this is true

eg:

Luke 3:2

during the high priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came to John the son of Zechariah in the wilderness.

Is a rhema word where God inspires, speaks and gives revelation in the "now and present"

there is no way you can know the truth

Because it is not fully explained nor can be in the human language or languages

I am but one as blind, and this thorn in my flesh stops me from becoming conceited

I once was blind but now I see the Truth

Yet still as one not seeing I walk by faith

.....................

KNOWING THE TRUTH

4. John 8:32  was spoken to the Jews

And it was the Spirit that would lead them into Truth

Meaning :  truth shall make you free; from ignorance and error,

Not being swayed by every wind of doctrine and teaching

But "In knowing the Truth and discerning what is false" you might be free

....................

THE WAY

Isaiah 35:8

Revelation 5:10

You have made us Kings and Priests to serve our God

BLINDED

Proverbs 25:2

It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings.

The concealing is for the saints to search and in the searching find the Truth

What do we do with the truth?
Depends whether we can face or accept the truth. If we accept it then it brings us salvation and we have to show that same truth to those who don't know or reject the truth.
If we're not seeking to do this can we be said to have received the truth?
