I was more of the impression Jesus was born as a man, partly due to the culture He was born into.

Yes another reason for Jesus being a man, but then most cultures at that time would have seen women the same, even now in this day and age depending on which country you are in

Man is always seen as the stronger even though marriage and the sexes are not important in the afterlife

Quote
If God had no gender, yet we are in his image, would we lack gender?  What God lacks is sex, since that's a pale biological aspect of gender, but God, who is not a man (or a woman) is the source of masculine & feminine, and he is neither male, female, nor a mix of sexes.  (God the son depotentiated into the biological and the male.)  As deity, the primary gender evoked is the masculine, hence father/son imagery, though the spirit is a feminine term in Hebrew and neuter in Greek.

Saw this thread and had me think of the current is God a man thread, so thought would bump.

So our new bodies would still have arms and legs etc ?

We would not be spirit but rather still made in God;'s image

And He would be our Light [metaphor/imagery]

Would this be God with arms and legs or Spirit ?

Maybe...its conjecture though isn't it, unless we know someone who has died and come back, what happened with them?

Well the only one I know of is Jesus...and He walked through walls to get into the upper room which was locked.  You don't manage that when in a human body do you?
