Amen, that makes sense to me. Kind of like when Jesus says
But if it is by the finger of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. Lk 11:12
I assume that the finger is figurative and not literal, otherwise you can understand why TV  comedy sketches sometimes depict a large finger coming down from the sky when they are making fun of God. But that`s just daft as a bag of hammers I would say, Lol.

the answer is clear Isaiah 49 1 to 7 we were chosen to be Gods servants before we were born and it is enough that we are His servants

Isaiah 49:2-3

The Servant of the Lord

49 Listen to me, you islands;
    hear this, you distant nations:
Before I was born the Lord called me;
    from my mother?s womb he has spoken my name.
2 He made my mouth like a sharpened sword,
    in the shadow of his hand he hid me;
he made me into a polished arrow
    and concealed me in his quiver.
3 He said to me, ?You are my servant,
    Israel, in whom I will display my splendor.?

O Israel, here in Isiaiah "Israel" being  a name of Christ and being The Jesus Christ

Isaiah speaking into mankinds future which is now our past...of the "Christ"
that would be born from the womb in  Luke 1:31

BUT NOT Isaiah rather Jesus who is God speaking through Isaiah

Not Israel being called from the "womb" [figurative] But Jesus [The Israel ....being called as a servant to the nations and a Light to the gentiles to go out into all the world and to preach His gospel

A testimony from His mouth that would change the world and a sword in his mouth that would divide and bring to Light those "people" in darkness

As in Hebrews 4:12  The double edged sword portrayed here in the mouth of Jesus being the very same sword used by the mouths of His servants in Psalm 149:6

He made my mouth like a sharpened sword, in the shadow of his hand he hid me; he made  me into a polished arrow and concealed me in his quiver.

Isaiah 49:2 speaks thus from the mouth of Jesus through a man named Isaiah and says

He made my mouth like a sharpened sword,in the shadow of his hand he hid me; he made me into a polished arrow

Jehovah God called his Servant from the womb from the womb of Mary in this case
to be  His Suffering Servant and  appointed him .. to bring Israel [the nation] and the gentiles to see the "Light" to have revelation of Him through His testimony

And so we see in this instance that "Israel here" is Jesus

In other parts of The Bible :  we see that Isael is "A Nation"

Jesus here in this example is The One with the double edged sword

But we also see in other parts of the bible that  : We who are His have a double edged sword in our mouths

This is the "God" of Abraham , Isaac and Jacob

The God in "Humanity"

Christianity = Christ in Humanity

Now freely you have received "The Israel" of your faith

Now freely give "The Israel" of your faith Matthew 10:8

But does God know what I will freely give ?

 ;D

Exodus 8:19

he magicians said to Pharaoh, "This is the finger of God. " But Pharaoh's heart was hard and he would not listen, just as the LORD had said.

 Exodus 31:18

When the LORD finished speaking to Moses on Mount Sinai, he gave him the two  tablets of the covenant law, the tablets of stone inscribed by the finger of God.

But they would not listen

thus the metaphor in  2 Corinthians 3:3

the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable  in 1 Corinthians 15:54

corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality

this being the resurrection of the saints, not now but future tense [shall put on]
this at the last trumpet call

therefore we can say  Luke 11:12 because 1 Corinthians 15:19

?17And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; you are yet in
your sins. 18Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.

Can I freely give eternal life ?

no no no

I can only freely serve the One who serves

But does God know whom I will serve ?

 Psalm 24:3 who shall ascend ? Psalm 24:4

Genesis 18:20-33,
20 Then the Lord said, ?The outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is so great and their sin
grievous 21 that I will go down and see if what they have done is as bad as the outcry that has
 reached me. If not, I will know.?

Why did God go down to see what they had done ? when He is Omniscient  ?

Quote Efengylwr71 replied

Quote
If God was not omniscient, then how did he know of their sin in the first place?

Well again God smelt the sin rising up to heaven although He knew what was going on I suppose He explains His actions so that we might understand  ?

Although God never moves as He is in all things everywhere....He also seems to be in a place

This would explain the  Father/Son/Holy Spirit Trinity

But again we have a paradox if God is everywhere and in all things by His Holy Spirit.......would He also be in satan ?

Tiptoes in...sorry know this has progressed but read this scripture somewhere today and had me think of the title of this thread, so thought would put up for you...then will tiptoe out :)

Psalm 139:1-4

You have searched me, Lord,
    and you know me.
You know when I sit and when I rise;
    you perceive my thoughts from afar.
You discern my going out and my lying down;
    you are familiar with all my ways.
Before a word is on my tongue
    you, Lord, know it completely.
