Are near death experiences true or not? Many scientists say that this phenomenon occurs because of the lack of oxygen to the brain when the person is dying. Many people say they have gone to heaven, whilst others say they experienced hell. Here`s a video of someones testimony on their N.D.E experience, it`s a bit long, but I think it`s worth watching it.

Well I know a lot say "its chemicals in the brain or its to do with the brain dying"

Well if that were true then why would all these people be seeing the same type of thing ?

Its always the same story of a Light

Of course Alien, all their experiences are quite universally the same, and that seems to span culture, religion, or upbringing. But I guess atheistic science will always seek to discredit the truth, and that`s all they ever do. I thought one or two may have seen the video, but I couldn`t of guessed that you had met the fellow, must have been good to hear it from the horse`s mouth.

There are lots of NDE books also.
Suggest you also read
"Heaven is for real" by Todd Burpo, about his 3 year old son's extensive experience of heaven.

My wife, as a child of 3.1/2 years, visited heaven several times and saw the heavenly city etc. She met the Lord and was told many things. It wasn't a near death experience, but just an out of body experience. She used to call them thinkdreams as they happened during the day, in a sort of trance. She was in a non-christian family and because they treated them as childish "make believe" she stopped talking about it.
It wasn't till she was in her late teens that she was given a bible. She then read about all that she had previously seen in the book of Revelation.

Disturb us Lord, when we are too pleased with ourselves. When our dreams have come true because we dreamed too little. When we arrived safely because we sailed too close to the shore. Disturb us Lord, to dare more boldly. To venture on wider seas. Where storms will show your mastery; Where, losing sight of land, we shall find the stars. We ask you to push back the horizons of our hopes; And to push into the future, in strength, courage, hope and love.                     (SIR FRANCIS DRAKE 1577)

That`s interesting. Yet another example of the Lord communicating with those who (In the biblical sense) know not of him.

The church has this false concept that our intellect has to be taught and agree with biblical truth in order to get to heaven or have a relationship with God. Yet the bible and human experience constantly reveals a different story, where those with no biblical input hear and respond to God.
They are simply touched Spirit to Spirit. That is how I first came to know God, maybe 15 years before I heard the gospel story.

When a pregnant Mary visited her cousin Elizabeth. The child who would become John the baptist, leapt in Elizabeth's womb. The fetus, John, could see in the spirit, even though his body was yet unfinished.

It is not our head that acknowledges God, it is our heart. The head merely gets in the way and tries to dominate the relationship.

That`s true. But don`t you think that those who are touched in the spirit are eventually lead to the full knowledge of God`s word written in the bible? For after all, aren`t we to know what God has to say on all matters? And without the bible, maybe it`s not possible to know everything that God has to say. But I do agree that people can come to know God (Initially) without the knowledge of the bible.

Sometimes this may be true. However the vast majority of the world has no access to the bible. In those places, any response to God is solely from hearing the whisper of the Holy Spirit.

We who do have the advantages of good biblical understanding will be judged according to that. They will be judged according to their revelation. I am not talking about eternal life, but rewards in heaven.
1Cor3
v11. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.
v12. If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw,
v13. their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person's work
v14. If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward.

Even those who are far from any other Christian contact or teaching can respond to the Spirit of Jesus Christ, and be led by him. History is filled with such people. In allowing themselves to be led by Him, they too will receive their reward.
