After the decision to ban captive animal performances was recently challenged
by the Attica Zoological Park, the Greek parliament has overwhelmingly voted in favor
of upholding the ban.The Zoological Park, which exhibits a wide variety of exotic animals,
had tried to convince members of the parliament
to amend the ban because such performances are “educational”.
Articles 12 and 13 of Greece’s animal protection Law 4039/2012
expressly forbids the use of animals in recreational games, exhibitions, artistic or entertaining events.
Way to go Greece, it is the first step, second one is to release all cetaceans back to the ocean.
ΠΑΜΕ ΓΙΑ ΑΛΛΑ!!
Florida has the most miles of coast line in the United States. We Floridians have the most to lose if we cant use our Ocean because of the plastics floating in our waters. Our Emerald colored water is becoming brown and full of toxins over time. The toxins and trash is not only affecting our beautiful water but its also killing the wildlife we love to watch! The birds and marine life are eating it because they think its food and its killing them. We Floridians not only love to swim and fish in our Ocean but its nice to sit and watch the dolphins play too.
Im 10 years old and I hope that when I have children they will be able to love all the things about Florida that I love. If we keep allowing the use of plastic bags, my children may not get the chance to enjoy it, it will be yucky brown water. Just because you dont see it first hand, doesn't mean its not happening.
If we outlaw the use of plastic bags in Florida we can cut down on the amount of toxins that are going into our Ocean and help save the animals and beautiful water. Other states have already banned plastic bags or are charging shoppers for the bags.
Please help us make this change. Do your part, do your research, sign the petition.
On October 13, 2013 Dutch, an 8yr old German Shorthaired Pointer, was running through Pennypack Park (as he did most days) when he was stabbed to death in the neck by Daniel Santosusso. Santosusso has admitted stabbing Dutch, but claims it was in self defense. Dutch had gotten into a little squabble with Santosusso's dog months earlier, and ever since he has been threatning to kill Dutch, even showing another dog owner the knife he would use.
Nobody actually witnessed the stabbing, but as a GSP owner I can tell you they are friendly to people, playful with dogs and kids, and are not aggressive in any way (unless you're a squirrel or a rabbit). I don't believe for a second that Dutch attacked Santosusso... he had been thinking about killing him for months, and needs to pay for it! Please tell the Phila PA SPCA and District Attorney to make Santosusso pay for murdering Dutch in cold blood. After a 15 year ban, Ontario is proposing to reinstate the spring bear hunt - including bear baiting and hunting with dogs - an inhumane practice that orphans bear cubs, causing them to starve to death.
