Here we have "God's chosen people"  yet Elijah  pleads  [with God]  against Israel......?

Now bring in Romans 11:1-2:  God did not reject his people, whom he foreknew. Don't you know what Scripture says in the passage about Elijah--how he appealed to God against Israel:

Here we have aqlready seen the differential between the "Land" and the "earth" as we have considere the differnces between the OT and the NT.

Now we see [revelation] that God never cast away those He foreknew -  but that those who rejected Him were [of the earth - or the world]

Here we have the "land" the vineyard called "Israel" chosen to be God's people - yet this is a shadow of things to come.....

Now the "whole earth is called and chosen to be God's people" yet many fall by the wayside [in the desert - exodus]

For those He called - He also chose and foreknew and adopted.

Thus Elijah prayed [made intercession] AGAINST Isael]

Seems to be a type of paradox

Ahh here we are - see: http://www.1faith.co.uk/bible-buddies/book-of-revelation-discussion-chapter-by-chapter/msg55161/#msg55161

Compare the OT Scripture  [Ezekiel] to the NT Scripture [Revelations]

Land [vineyard] -  Earth [world]

THE TABERNACLE AND ITS FURNISHINGS - PART 2 OF 2

March 18, 2016

The Epistle of Paul the Apostle to the Romans 12
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, `which is' your spiritual service. 2 And be not fashioned according to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, and ye may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God. 3 For I say, through the grace that was given me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think as to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to each man a measure of faith.

BIBLE MAPS - THE WILDERNESS WANDERINGS

March 19, 2016

The Epistle of Paul the Apostle to the Romans 13
1 Let every soul be in subjection to the higher powers: for there is no power but of God; and the `powers' that be are ordained of God. 2 Therefore he that resisteth the power, withstandeth the ordinance of God: and they that withstand shall receive to themselves judgment. 3 For rulers are not a terror to the good work, but to the evil. And wouldest thou have no fear of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise from the same:

2 Therefore he that resisteth the power, withstandeth the ordinance of God:

Can anyone ?

Is it human resistance or God's forechosen ?

Is it human will or God's Will ? @hoghead1

Do I really have any choice in the matter....

Easter is always a time of contemplation for me, 23 yrs ago i chose to be and was Baptised.  So choices and decisions been on my mind today.

Are we only willing to make the comfortable ones, or are we willing to do what is right whatever the cost and audience?

You always have choice in your situations.

Think of it this way as we are in the season ...

Jesus on the cross, positionally was in the middle of the 2 thieves.

Have you ever considered why he was in the middle?

Was it that only one had a choice on the cross to turn to Jesus or both?
Nailed to the cross themselves, the thieves, completely vulnerable to the crowds and the world, for all to see and hear what they said.

Do you think that final act on his 'deathbed' ... the thief who turned to Jesus and spoke to the other thief ... in turn 'spoke' to the crowd? do you think people in the crowd 'learnt a lesson' that day, other than seeing Jesus hanging there?  In one sense that thief became a man of God and a preacher in his short time of faith!
The other thief represents your choice ... you can choose life or death....one chose life and was told that was his reward on his choice, the other one could have also chose the same, but instead like satan in the desert with Jesus after his baptism, goaded Jesus and chose death.

Jesus could have transported elsewhere I am sure, like Philip did with the Ethiopian, however he followed His Father's bidding, however hard that was to be to do.

Jesus too had choice, Jesus' choice was just always the Father's bidding, why isn't ours? you should ask yourselves.

This is my contemplation today.

I'd been thinking a bit about the thief on the cross recently. I heard a snippet on the radio (didn't listen to the whole program), but the upshot of such, they were talking about who gets to heaven, they mentioned the thief on the cross would have gone to heaven. Kind of worth pondering.

BOOKS OF THE BIBLE - PSALMS - PART 1 OF 4

March 20, 2016

The Epistle of Paul the Apostle to the Romans 14
1 But him that is weak in faith receive ye, `yet' not for decision of scruples. 2 One man hath faith to eat all things: but he that is weak eateth herbs. 3 Let not him that eateth set at nought him that eateth not; and let not him that eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.
