Romans 2:29  No, a person is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a person's praise is not from other people, but from God.

COVENANTS OF THE BIBLE - PART 1 OF 6

February 20, 2016

The Acts of the Apostles 16
1 And he came also to Derbe and to Lystra: and behold, a certain disciple was there, named Timothy, the son of a Jewess that believed; but his father was a Greek. 2 The same was well reported of by the brethren that were at Lystra and Iconium. 3 Him would Paul have to go forth with him; and he took and circumcised him because of the Jews that were in those parts: for they all knew that his father was a Greek.

COVENANTS OF THE BIBLE - PART 2 OF 6

February 21, 2016

The Acts of the Apostles 17
1 Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where was a synagogue of the Jews: 2 and Paul, as his custom was, went in unto them, and for three sabbath days reasoned with them from the Scriptures, 3 opening and alleging that it behooved the Christ to suffer, and to rise again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom, `said he,' I proclaim unto you, is the Christ.

COVENANTS OF THE BIBLE - PART 3 OF 6

February 22, 2016

The Acts of the Apostles 18
1 After these things he departed from Athens, and came to Corinth. 2 And he found a certain Jew named Aquila, a man of Pontus by race, lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla, because Claudius had commanded all the Jews to depart from Rome: and he came unto them; 3 and because he was of the same trade, he abode with them, and they wrought, for by their trade they were tentmakers.

Some promises or covenants were conditional--that is certain things had to be done by those receiving the promises in order for the promise to be completed. We will see this conditional type of covenant later with the nation of Israel. However, the promises given to Abraham are eternal or non-conditional. Abraham had already obeyed and the promise given is a "forever" promise: "All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring forever." Genesis 13:15

So a forever promise.  This explanation suggest some covenants are not.  So is it that some have come to pass, are fulfilled, that some can be broken or a new one replace it?

Has me think of Scripture...

Matthew 5

17 ?Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished.

WHO IS GOD? PART 1 OF 11

February 24, 2016

The Book of Psalms 17
1 Hear the right, O Jehovah, attend unto my cry; Give ear unto my prayer, that goeth not out of feigned lips. 2 Let my sentence come forth from thy presence; Let thine eyes look upon equity. 3 Thou hast proved my heart; thou hast visited me in the night; Thou hast tried me, and findest nothing; I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.
