Maybe you are referring to ..

Psalm 4:4 "Stand in awe , and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still . Selah."

Psalm 77:6
"I call to remembrance my song in the night: I commune with mine own heart: and my spirit made diligent search ."

That said...I do not lean to my own heart, who can tell if the heart's motivation is totally pure....only God. I trust the Spirit of God in me...I do not always trust my own heart!
The only trust we should have is in the Lord.

I think to commune with our heart means to communicate with it, to search or examine it and to ponder and meditate upon the things which are in the heart. This requires us to be still in quiet contemplation as we think about our actions and ways.
Psalms 77:6 I call to remembrance my song in the night: I commune with mine own heart: and my spirit made diligent search.
Lamentations 3:40 Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD.
Psalms 119:59 I thought on my ways, and turned my feet unto thy testimonies.
So yes I do commune with my heart but probably not as often as I should.

I just hope and pray that I stay true to my signature line.

Ps 4:4 commune means to answer appoint or to say, whereas in Ps 77:6 the word is to ponder and converse with oneself out loud.

It says David encouraged himself in the Lord , maybe he gave himself a good talking to.

I John 3:19And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.

Do we by the Spirit of faith assure our hearts, take a guard of our heart for out of the heart is the issues of life Proverbs.

If you feel you want to fight me There's a chain around your mind Something holding you tightly What is real's so hard to find

Losing babies to genocide Oh, where's the meaning in that blight Can't you see that we've really brought into Every word they proclaimed in every lie, oh?

If we could only get out of our heads Out of our heads and into our hearts If we could only get out of our heads Out of our heads and into our heart, oh

Someone's feeding on your anger Someone's been whispering in your ear You've seen his face before, you've been played before This aren't the words you need to hear

Through the dawn of darkness blindly You have blood upon your hands All the world will treat you kindly But only the heart can understand, oh, understand

If we could only get out of our heads Out of our heads and into our hearts Children of Abraham lay down your fears Swallow your tears and look to your heart

If we could only get out of our heads Out of our heads and into our hearts Children of Abraham lay down your fears Swallow your tears and look to your heart

Oh, let them go, let them be, let them go

Every man is his own prophet Oh, every prophet just a man I say all the women stand up, say yes to themselves Teach your children best you can

Let every man vow to the best in himself We're not killing anymore We're the wisest one everybody listen 'Cause you can't fight this feeling anymore, oh, anymore

If we could only get out of our heads Out of our heads and into our hearts Children of Abraham lay down your fears Swallow your tears and look to your heart

Do you commune with your own heart?

Yes, as in I trust God's direction in my heart and recognise when His spirit testifies to me something to be true.
Has me thinking of the Scripture on my signature line...

Quote
1Corinthians2

10The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. 11 For who knows a person's thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 12 What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us. 13 This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words

One thing the demonic cannot mess with and that is the Holy Spirit.
Learn to recognise the signs of and manifestations of the Holy Spirit, look to the fruit and gifts of the Holy Spirit, focus on God, Jesus is the way the truth and light.
Seek you will find, ask you will receive, knock and the door will be opened.  It's that simple.
Unless not all Scripture is true that is? didn't think so.
So as Scripture is the Word of God, lets take Him at His Word and just crack on and be the light bearers we should be, bringing God to those in need.

Don't be surprised for being under attack for doing so though, your working at destroying the devils stronghold.  But ya know this is why the Body of Christ is important because working together you encourage and uphold one another through God's love.  It's that simple, yet seems so hard to grasp for many.

Do I have bad days? yep
Does God look after me though even in the bad days? yep

This is what is on my heart and I don't see it as a bad thing.
