What is your understanding of the "heart of the earth" in Matthew 12:40?

Sorry but don't know how to answer. That's why.
For just Jesus this was other.
But for all others probably the other option.
Because not sure about soul sleep before the resurrction because the bible gives different views about it.

So Jesus created the bridge for returning to innocence.   In the beginning it was morning to night, through resurrection its moved from darkness to morning.

I think the "heart of the earth" mentioned in Matthew 12:40 is referring to the tomb.

Can it mean dead and buried did Jonah die in the whale and was he resurected when the whale spat him up on the beach it would make more sense of what happend to Jesus

Please remember says spirits and not angels.Are they angels?
