Hi
So are we saying that only the well educated can interpret the Bible that we uneducated should not read or interpret it but only believe what men tell us it means I don't think so.

Dave

We're not saying anything of the kind! But surely not all interpretations are equally good? The better we know the Bible, and the more background knowledge we have (not the same thing as being "better educated"), the more "on track" our interpretation is likely to be. I cringe at some of the mis-interpretations I made at the beginning of my Christian life, purely out of ignorance. For example, I didn't realise that often in the NT (e.g. Acts 7:40, I Corinthians 11:30, "falling asleep" means "dying" (see John 11:11-14).
Quote
Gods word is true if God has said he has created everything then that what he has done we may not understand it all but we need to believe it.

And that's what all Christians believe - but it still leaves a lot of scope to disagree on how He did it.
"God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them." (I John 4:16)

Hi Deborah
Thank you for your reply you said

This is very true and my interpretation of the creation account is a load of cods wallop according to most on here so would you like to discuss it pull it apart desect  it how dose it stand up to evolution I thing its important there is nothing that turns of seekers than the creation account in Genesis.

Where dose one start how about

But Jesus answered them, ?My Father is working until now, and I am working.?
John 5:17 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/jhn.5.17.ESV

This means that the Father has not rested so would support the fact that he had been working a long time how long ??

Like to add this is open to all

Love and Peace

Genesis tells you God rested...as in a 'it's happened' thing.

I have before considered theories , such as evolution.
Back in the past I was neutral about it and weighed up the probability of considering for the future, which was slim tbh.

Just only to get things clear up any misunderstandings on the theory.Only I don't feel comfortable in considering, feeling like I'm going against God. In the past  my friends together invited me to attend  through their tutor and I didn't like the way it was done.

Especially as a  friend didn't feel comfortable about inviting me, although they did so together through the tutor. I could really sense they were thinking of this afterwards too another time. (Probably seems so silly  to say this,  but I would rather understand a theory in the way that God teaches, making it clear).

God can even be seen in the incredible design and power of DNA, that species transform to fit their environment. Such as the moth darkened during the industrial Revolution and then lightened afterwards.

Only I can't concede that humans evolved from different creature's altogether. I don't think they found fossils in the intermediate stages to fit this. There are other methods that I don't understand or know about

Hi Serenity
Thank you for your reply yes you are right it dose say that but were dose it say God started work again I can't find anything till after revelations when it says God will create a new heaven and earth.

And Christ says him and the Father had been working up to the time he said this so we have a contradiction and Christ cannot be wrong there is a Sabbath rest for Gods people as stated in Hebrews

So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, for whoever has entered God?s rest has also rested from his works as God did from his. Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience.
Hebrews 4:9-‬11 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/heb.4.9-11.ESV

So how can we enter Gods sabbath rest if its behind us it has to be in front of us a future event.

Hi Primrose
Thank you for your reply the point I am trying to make is that God has been working over long periods of time from the first verse in Genesis up until the time of Christ how long that was I have no idea as for the first 3 days or as I like to think of them periods there is no time given so can be millions of years

Love and Peace

Hi Davetaff, I don't hold any opinion on that and am not sure on the mechsnisms and timimg of how God created the world. It's fascinating but I don't want to delve into that and start believing in something incorrectly.

I'm not saying you are incorrect  or correct and others are incorrect or correct but that can be looked at for consideration.

I like the scripture you gave about entering God's rest and so there is no falling. Hebrews 4:9-11.
