Hi Deborah and Tara,

it is great that you are here giving an alternative way of thinking and contributing etc. because we all have a different way of thinking and all have something unique to offer. I do like the way you read in this forum Tara and I've seen Davetaff express that too. I can try and find the posts but they might be difficult to find.

Others enjoy your contributions and yours Deborah. You have both been encouraged. It's nice that you have each other and probably if anybody is going to inspire you Tara it's Deborah and vice versa.

Deborah you can have your opinion on those of us posting but it is belittling towards us when we give so much of our time and you put that down here. Davetaff is such a gentleman taking so much from different people and he still carries on so resilient  and contributes, agreeing to disagree when that occurs and kindly encouraging others and makes good points. I just want there to be a peace, even if we disagree.

Primrose, I didn't mean to belittle your opinions or your way of expressing yourself. I'm sorry. And while I find it very frustrating trying to discuss anything with Dave, he is as you say unfailingly polite.

Alright Deborah. :D
I don't want to talk over you Davetaff. Just to say I feel comfortable with you around because if you have ever disagreed you have done kindly and not aggressively. Yet also
To me the way you conduct yourself speaks more than the words. I lock myself in the articulate section because I dread some of the replies sometimes but not always. I shouldn't be so sensitive but that's my personality and I can't change. I feel relaxed with you and there are others too that have a gentleness.
I do see gems in your posts and respect the fact you really express the importance of God as the crowning glory, above anything else. Please carry on posting because you are special.

Hi @TaraH
Thank you for your post sorry to hear you are dropping out of the discussion I thought we were doing OK I never meant to change your mind all we were doing was giving two sides of a argument that has been going on since the time of Darwin.
My reason for doing it is to awaken an interest in God in all those who read our posts but never contribute I never set out to change anyones mind but encourage them to change their own mind.

I would like to make it clear that I believe the world is as old as science says it is but that God is responsible for all life on planet earth not chance and as Deborah says through DNA that wonderful string of information and information must come from an intelligent source

Love and Peace
Dave

Hi,

Deborah, Dave, Primrose,

I made it clear from the start I didn?t want to get into the debate, I only wanted to make the point, that the argument against evolution can?t just be ?it?s not in the bible?.  That was it.  That?s not a debate.  There are many things in the bible that are no longer done, ie, stoning, marrying your rapist, beating your slaves, for obvious reasons, most believers are comfortable with this, so I don?t understand the problem with evolution.

I only comment occasionally, but it?s frustrating when you think you?ve made it clear, you don?t want to participate, and you continue to get asked questions.  I don?t think I?ve been rude, but if anyone thinks I have or have offended anyone, then I apologise.  I do have an odd sense of humour, and sometimes a joke is a good way to make a point, unfortunately, not everyone takes it the right way.  People are free to believe what they want, however, if they are factually wrong, then there?s nothing wrong in putting them right, they are still free to believe whatever they want.

Tara

Hi @Deborah

I?m glad someone gets it thank you.

I have met both Dawkins and Bart (field study I did), and found both to be lovely people.  You are right about some of Bart?s stuff not standing up, but there?s a helluva lot still does, but it makes no real difference.  I would be more surprised if there were no mistakes, contradictions etc.  Dawkins I met at a conference on genetics, he was interesting and so knowledgeable, I suspect he shares our frustrations, he spends a couple of hours of detailed explanations only to be told nah rubbish it?s not in the bible 😂!

I read one of Dawkins' books (The God Delusion) many years ago. He's brilliant on biology/evolution/genetics, and he communicates his knowledge very well. Unfortunately as soon as he gets on to philosophical/religious ground he doesn't really know what he's talking about - he easily dismantled a few illogical Christian "arguments" that most of us would be embarrassed by, but on the more serious issues often missed the target altogether. So the incomprehension evidently works in both directions...  To be fair, there aren't many people with expert knowledge of both science and philosophy/theology.

Hi
So are we saying that only the well educated can interpret the Bible that we uneducated should not read or interpret it but only believe what men tell us it means I don't think so.
The only one of Christs apostles who was educated was St Paul and he got it wrong and had to be put right.
Gods word is true if God has said he has created everything then that what he has done we may not understand it all but we need to believe it.

Love and Peace
Dave
