No, that's just nitpicking. The only need of God is to fulfil his own will.
I think we may have been speaking a little at cross purposes in this brief exchange but (I think) I have got it clear now!
If I was nitpicking, it was over my own words, not yours, so I'll try to be more explicit. What I meant was "Maybe a better way to word my question was 'Why would God require priests after Jesus returns?'"
My answer is after the millennial sabbatical reign, those who did not make the wedding feast will be judged and refined in the lake of fire so they can join the kingdom with us. So there is a great reward for following Jesus in this life but God will not lose a single one of His children in the long run. Yes, I think Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, Idi Amin, Mohammed and Harold Shipman may very well need priests when they get through it all but they will be there. That is Good News to me and I put it to you this is THE Good News and the Gospel brought by Peter, Paul and John not to mention Christ Himself.
Warm regards, peace and blessings in Christ.

A priest is a servant of God but one regarded as having an especial authority and endowment from God. A wide variety of functions is assigned to priests, from priest king to humble servant.

Your answer above is predicated on JW theology that is not born out by scripture, i.e. that the lake of fire is for refinement. It isn't for refinement but for destruction of the devil and his servants. As for when Jesus returns, he won't be returning as a human being but as a judge of souls. If such were to be given to a human, well it would take a very long time to judge the billions of souls. In fact forever, far longer than 1000 years. As for judging those who will and will not make it to the marriage feast, I would ask you what your criteria for judgement really is?

To be clear, by JW do you mean Jehovah's Witnesses? My understanding of their beliefs is that they did not encompass universal salvation but rather annihilation. Although they do chop and change what they believe in so maybe they have come round to the truth more recently than I have taken an interest in anything they say. One thing is for sure, I have never heard it from them.

I have no idea what you mean here by "my criteria for judgement"

Yes, you may well be right. I was using deductive reasoning as I'm not acquainted with JW much myself, except that they don't believe in eternal punishment, so it begs the question of what the lake of fire of for, in their theology, given that hell (i.e. hades) will be emptied Rev  20:13,14 and all will be experience the second resurrection except the 144000.  May be I was getting confused with Catholic purgatory?

I do find that these new fangled movements from the USA such as Mormonism do often chop and change as the fancy dictates.

OK, I have two questions: (a) what is your criteria for making the wedding feast? (b) how / why do you see the lake of fire as a method of refinement?

They are not my criteria by any means but I think Revelation 19 and 20 answers both these questions.
This video may also help
It's just one video but I can't work out how this link works but I'm fed up with editing it!
