Hi
Moving on

and he went out, bearing his own cross, to the place called The Place of a Skull, which in Aramaic is called Golgotha. There they crucified him, and with him two others, one on either side, and Jesus between them.

Hi
Moving on

Pilate also wrote an inscription and put it on the cross. It read, ?Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews.? Many of the Jews read this inscription, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city, and it was written in Aramaic, in Latin, and in Greek. So the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate, ?Do not write, ?The King of the Jews,? but rather, ?This man said, I am King of the Jews.?? Pilate answered, ?What I have written I have written.?
John 19:19-‬22 ESV

It's  interesting that God can use anyone to proclaim his truth here he uses  Pilate I suspect he did not Know he was being used the Jews tried to change his mind but he would not the word of God can not be changed it stands for ever.

Hi
Moving on

When the soldiers had crucified Jesus, they took his garments and divided them into four parts, one part for each soldier; also his tunic. But the tunic was seamless, woven in one piece from top to bottom, so they said to one another, ?Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it to see whose it shall be.? This was to fulfill the Scripture which says, ?They divided my garments among them, and for my clothing they cast lots.? So the soldiers did these things,
John 19:23-‬24 ESV

Its wonderful how the prophecies of the OT come true in the life and death of Jesus Christ this one come from psalm 22

For dogs encompass me; a company of evildoers encircles me; they have pierced my hands and feet? I can count all my bones? they stare and gloat over me; they divide my garments among them, and for my clothing they cast lots.
Psalm 22:16-‬18 ESV

We would do well to read the whole psalm

Hi
Moving on

but standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother and his mother?s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, ?Woman, behold, your son!? Then he said to the disciple, ?Behold, your mother!? And from that hour the disciple took her to his own home.
John 19:25-‬27 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/jhn.19.25-27.ESV

Our hearts go out to Mary and those who loved our Lord they could not understand what was happening their whole world was coming to an end our Lord gave the decipel he loved to his mother to look after her.
Who was the decipel he loved we are not told but our Lord loved all his decipels so could it be any of the decipels standing there

Hi
Moving on

After this, Jesus, knowing that all was now finished, said (to fulfill the Scripture), ?I thirst.? A jar full of sour wine stood there, so they put a sponge full of the sour wine on a hyssop branch and held it to his mouth. When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, ?It is finished,? and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
John 19:28-‬30 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/jhn.19.28-30.ESV

Again we see the scriptures being fulfilled everything written about him has happend and there is more to come in the future that we can be certain of.

Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

They gave me poison for food, and for my thirst they gave me sour wine to drink.

Psalm 51:7 ESV

After this our Lord gave up his spirit and died for the sins of the world a most wonderful gift of Love.

Hi
Moving on

Since it was the day of Preparation, and so that the bodies would not remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a high day), the Jews asked Pilate that their legs might be broken and that they might be taken away. So the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first, and of the other who had been crucified with him. But when they came to Jesus and saw that he was already dead, they did not break his legs. But one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and at once there came out blood and water. He who saw it has borne witness?his testimony is true, and he knows that he is telling the truth?that you also may believe. For these things took place that the Scripture might be fulfilled: ?Not one of his bones will be broken.? And again another Scripture says, ?They will look on him whom they have pierced.?
John 19:31-‬37 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/jhn.19.31-37.ESV

He keeps all his bones; not one of them is broken.

But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.
Isaiah 53:5 ESV

Isn't it wonderful when we see all these prophecies being fulfilled

Hi
Moving on

After these things Joseph of Arimathea, who was a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, asked Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus, and Pilate gave him permission. So he came and took away his body. Nicodemus also, who earlier had come to Jesus by night, came bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about seventy-five pounds in weight. So they took the body of Jesus and bound it in linen cloths with the spices, as is the burial custom of the Jews. Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb in which no one had yet been laid. So because of the Jewish day of Preparation, since the tomb was close at hand, they laid Jesus there.
John 19:38-‬42 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/jhn.19.38-42.ESV

Joseph was a secret follower as I suspect there were quite a few but this would change after the resurrection believers would stand up for our Lord even if it meant enduring persecutions.
Then Joseph and Nicodemus prepared the body of Jesus for burying so we can be sure that Jesus was dead and layer in the tomb.

Hi
Moving on

Now on the first day of the week Mary Magdalene came to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb. So she ran and went to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved, and said to them, ?They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid him.?
John 20:1-‬2 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/jhn.20.1-2.ESV

Here we come to the most important event in human history the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Still it looks like Mary did not believe that Christ had risen but thought someone had stolen his body although Christ had told his followers he would rise from the dead
