Hi
Moving on

Then Pilate said to him, ?So you are a king?? Jesus answered, ?You say that I am a king. For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world?to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.?
John 18:37 ESV

Here our Lord tells Pilate why he had came into the world yes he would be a king but first he would be the suffering servant and pay the price for the sins of the world by which we are saved.

Hi
Moving on

Pilate said to him, ?What is truth?? After he had said this, he went back outside to the Jews and told them, ?I find no guilt in him. But you have a custom that I should release one man for you at the Passover. So do you want me to release to you the King of the Jews?? They cried out again, ?Not this man, but Barabbas!? Now Barabbas was a robber.
John 18:38-‬40 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/jhn.18.38-40.ESV

A good question from Pilate we know that Gods word is truth and we should believe what it says we may not always understand everything it says but we should believe it till enlightenment comes.
Here we see that Pilate could find no fault with Christ so gave the Jews the choice of what should happen to our Lord and they chose to condemn him it was Israel who was responsible for the death of our Lord.

Hi
Moving on

Then Pilate took Jesus and flogged him. And the soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns and put it on his head and arrayed him in a purple robe. They came up to him, saying, ?Hail, King of the Jews!? and struck him with their hands. Pilate went out again and said to them, ?See, I am bringing him out to you that you may know that I find no guilt in him.?
John 19:1-‬4 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/jhn.19.1-4.ESV

So began the humiliations of Christ Pilate could not find anything wrong with Christ but still had him flogged and allowed the soldiers to humiliate him then Pilate brings Christ out to the Jews and again says he finds no guilt in him.

Hi
Moving on

So Jesus came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. Pilate said to them, ?Behold the man!? When the chief priests and the officers saw him, they cried out, ?Crucify him, crucify him!? Pilate said to them, ?Take him yourselves and crucify him, for I find no guilt in him.?
John 19:5-‬6 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/jhn.19.5-6.ESV

Pilate brings Christ out to the Jews dressed in the apparel of his humiliation and again repeats his statement that he finds no fault with Jesus but is willing to hand Christ over to the Jews to be crucified in so doing is guilty of the death of Christ because he had the authority to release Christ if he wished to do so but he was more interested in pleasing the Jews than dispensing justice.

Hi
Moving on

The Jews answered him, ?We have a law, and according to that law he ought to die because he has made himself the Son of God.? When Pilate heard this statement, he was even more afraid. He entered his headquarters again and said to Jesus, ?Where are you from?? But Jesus gave him no answer. So Pilate said to him, ?You will not speak to me? Do you not know that I have authority to release you and authority to crucify you??
John 19:7-‬10 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/jhn.19.7-10.ESV

Of course the Jews had another law which said thou shalt not kill of course Christ was the son of God he was telling the truth.
When Pilate heard this he got scared who was this man who stood before him so he asked him who he was but Jesus refused to answer him.

Hi
Moving on

Jesus answered him, ?You would have no authority over me at all unless it had been given you from above. Therefore he who delivered me over to you has the greater sin.?
John 19:11 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/jhn.19.11.ESV

These are some interesting words from our Lord what he is saying is in fact that God is ultimately in charge of what goes on down here on earth I believe it has to do with what God says in Genesis.

Gen 3:22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever

So to be like God we must have the knowledge of good and evil and choose the good which is to love and that love has to come from our heart of our own free will no strings attached so lets choose the good which is love.

Hi
Moving on

From then on Pilate sought to release him, but the Jews cried out, ?If you release this man, you are not Caesar?s friend. Everyone who makes himself a king opposes Caesar.? So when Pilate heard these words, he brought Jesus out and sat down on the judgment seat at a place called The Stone Pavement, and in Aramaic Gabbatha.
John 19:12-‬13 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/jhn.19.12-13.ESV

Here we have Pilate trying ti release Christ but the Jews opposed him strongly saying he would not be a friend of Caesar and this scared Pilate especially when they said he was a king which of course he was.
So Pilate brought Jesus out and sat down on the judgement seat.

Hi
Moving on

Now it was the day of Preparation of the Passover. It was about the sixth hour. He said to the Jews, ?Behold your King!? They cried out, ?Away with him, away with him, crucify him!? Pilate said to them, ?Shall I crucify your King?? The chief priests answered, ?We have no king but Caesar.? So he delivered him over to them to be crucified. So they took Jesus,

Interesting that Pilate told the Jew the truth that Jesus Christ was their king but they refused to believe him and preferred to have Caesar as their king totally denying Christ and asking that he be crucified thus fulfilling scripture the older brother killing the younger brother.
