Hi
Moving on

Then Simon Peter, having a sword, drew it and struck the high priest?s servant and cut off his right ear. (The servant?s name was Malchus.) So Jesus said to Peter, ?Put your sword into its sheath; shall I not drink the cup that the Father has given me??
John 18:10-‬11 ESV

It seams here that Peter thinks that violence and killing is the answer to the problem but Jesus puts him right God has a plan he has had it from the beginning of creation and nothing and no one can change it it is the plan of creation the end of which is man in the image of God which is Jesus Chist at his second coming,

Hi
Moving on

So the band of soldiers and their captain and the officers of the Jews arrested Jesus and bound him. First they led him to Annas, for he was the father-in-law of Caiaphas, who was high priest that year. It was Caiaphas who had advised the Jews that it would be expedient that one man should die for the people.
John 18:12-‬14 ESV

Here our Lord is lead away like a lamb to the slaughter quietly with no resistance to face his accuses knowing full well the out come of their decision.
This was why he came into the world to do the will of our Father to die for the sins of the world for the forgiveness of sins so let us take full advantage of this wonderful gift.

Hi
Moving on

Simon Peter followed Jesus, and so did another disciple. Since that disciple was known to the high priest, he entered with Jesus into the courtyard of the high priest, but Peter stood outside at the door. So the other disciple, who was known to the high priest, went out and spoke to the servant girl who kept watch at the door, and brought Peter in. The servant girl at the door said to Peter, ?You also are not one of this man?s disciples, are you?? He said, ?I am not.? Now the servants and officers had made a charcoal fire, because it was cold, and they were standing and warming themselves. Peter also was with them, standing and warming himself.
John 18:15-‬18 ESV

Here we see Peter and another decipel enter into the court yard of the High priest I think this was nessarsery so that they could be witnesses to the fact that Jesus had been arrested and taken to the High Priest everything must be established by two or three witnesses

Hi
Moving on

The high priest then questioned Jesus about his disciples and his teaching. Jesus answered him, ?I have spoken openly to the world. I have always taught in synagogues and in the temple, where all Jews come together. I have said nothing in secret. Why do you ask me? Ask those who have heard me what I said to them; they know what I said.?
John 18:19-‬21 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/jhn.18.19-21.ESV

Here our Lord answers the high priest about his teaching our Lord tells him everything  he has taught has been open to all he has not taught anything in secret so he tells the high priest to ask anyone who heard him what he said everything our Lord had said would be preached to all the world he said nothing in secret.

Hi
Moving on

When he had said these things, one of the officers standing by struck Jesus with his hand, saying, ?Is that how you answer the high priest?? Jesus answered him, ?If what I said is wrong, bear witness about the wrong; but if what I said is right, why do you strike me?? Annas then sent him bound to Caiaphas the high priest.
John 18:22-‬24 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/jhn.18.22-24.ESV

Here we see the beginning of the abuse our Lord was to suffer again our Lord asks for witnesses to prove what he had said was wrong

Mat 18:16 But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established

So its important what we say can be witnessed and I believe we can use Gods word to bear witness to what we say.

Hi

Now Simon Peter was standing and warming himself. So they said to him, ?You also are not one of his disciples, are you?? He denied it and said, ?I am not.? One of the servants of the high priest, a relative of the man whose ear Peter had cut off, asked, ?Did I not see you in the garden with him?? Peter again denied it, and at once a rooster crowed.
John 18:25-‬27 ESV

Here we have the denile of Peter it can be so easy to follow in his footsteps especially in the company of unbelievers even if we remain silent its a form of denile its not always easy to take ridicule and be made fun of.
Of course things changed after the resurrection and the gift of the Holy Spirit then Peter  and all the Apostles stood up for Christ and suffered persecution for it.
Should we take on their example next time we are in the company of unbelievers

Hi
Moving on

Then they led Jesus from the house of Caiaphas to the governor?s headquarters. It was early morning. They themselves did not enter the governor?s headquarters, so that they would not be defiled, but could eat the Passover. So Pilate went outside to them and said, ?What accusation do you bring against this man?? They answered him, ?If this man were not doing evil, we would not have delivered him over to you.? Pilate said to them, ?Take him yourselves and judge him by your own law.? The Jews said to him, ?It is not lawful for us to put anyone to death.? This was to fulfill the word that Jesus had spoken to show by what kind of death he was going to die.
John 18:28-‬32 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/jhn.18.28-32.ESV

Here we see Jesus being handed over to the Roman authorities so that his accusers could have him put to death all this so that the sins of the world could be forgiven through his death and resurrection.
God had allowed sin in the world so we could be like God knowing good and evil and we must reject the evil and accept good and we do this through love.

And he said to him, ?You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.?
Matthew 22:37-‬40 ESV

?You have heard that it was said, ?You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.? But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
Matthew 5:43-‬45, ‬47-‬48 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/mat.5.43-48.ESV

https://bible.com/bible/59/mat.22.37-40.ESV

So we see that Love is the answer to all our problems not an easy task

Hi
Moving on

So Pilate entered his headquarters again and called Jesus and said to him, ?Are you the King of the Jews?? Jesus answered, ?Do you say this of your own accord, or did others say it to you about me?? Pilate answered, ?Am I a Jew? Your own nation and the chief priests have delivered you over to me. What have you done?? Jesus answered, ?My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But my kingdom is not from the world.?
John 18:33-‬36 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/jhn.18.33-36.ES

So here we have Christ before Pilate the Roman governor who asks him if he is king of the Jews Jesus dose not give him a direct answer but answers which a question and asks him what he has done he replies that his kingdom is not of this world his kingdom is the world to come where he will rule as king of Kings and Lord of Lords this will happen at his second comming when he will reign for a 1000 years.

Love and Peace
