Hi John
Thank you for your thought some very good points made as for the Pharisees I believe they were blinded to the truth it had to be this way if they had seen the truth they would never crucified our Lord then where would we be.

Love and Peace

Hi
Moving on

So the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered the council and said, ?What are we to do? For this man performs many signs. If we let him go on like this, everyone will believe in him, and the Romans will come and take away both our place and our nation.?
John 11:47-‬48 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/jhn.11.47-48.ESV

As we see from the above it was through purely selfish motives they were only interested in what they might lose its the same today there are many who like to keep everything they have instead of following  the laws of love given to us by our Lord.

Love and Peace

Hi
Moving on

But one of them, Caiaphas, who was high priest that year, said to them, ?You know nothing at all. Nor do you understand that it is better for you that one man should die for the people, not that the whole nation should perish.? He did not say this of his own accord, but being high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus would die for the nation, and not for the nation only, but also to gather into one the children of God who are scattered abroad. So from that day on they made plans to put him to death.
John 11:49-‬53 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/jhn.11.49-53.ESV

Whats interesting here is it shows God dose not always use believers to prophecy here he uses the high priest  to tell what was soon to take place although they were making plans to kill Jesus the time place would be decided by God and not by man.
Christ would die for the nation of Israel and all those who would believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Hi
Moving on

Jesus therefore no longer walked openly among the Jews, but went from there to the region near the wilderness, to a town called Ephraim, and there he stayed with the disciples.
John 11:54 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/jhn.11.54.ESV

Jesus knew exactly when he would die for the sins of the world so  he left Jerusalem and what to the town of Ephrain and he stayed there with his decipels most probably teaching his decipels waiting for the time of the Passover the time of sacrifice.

Hi
Moving on

Now the Passover of the Jews was at hand, and many went up from the country to Jerusalem before the Passover to purify themselves. They were looking for Jesus and saying to one another as they stood in the temple, ?What do you think? That he will not come to the feast at all?? Now the chief priests and the Pharisees had given orders that if anyone knew where he was, he should let them know, so that they might arrest him.
John 11:55-‬57 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/jhn.11.55-57.ESV

Time for the Passover a very important time for the Jews and would become very important for Christians as well.
We also see how effective the preaching of Jesus and his decipels had been that many were coming in from the country looking for Christ.
The chief priests and Pharisees were looking to use it as opportunity to arrest him.

Hi
Moving on

Six days before the Passover, Jesus therefore came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, whom Jesus had raised from the dead. So they gave a dinner for him there. Martha served, and Lazarus was one of those reclining with him at table. Mary therefore took a pound of expensive ointment made from pure nard, and anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped his feet with her hair. The house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume. But Judas Iscariot, one of his disciples (he who was about to betray him), said, ?Why was this ointment not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?? He said this, not because he cared about the poor, but because he was a thief, and having charge of the moneybag he used to help himself to what was put into it. Jesus said, ?Leave her alone, so that she may keep it for the day of my burial. For the poor you always have with you, but you do not always have me.?
John 12:1-‬8 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/jhn.12.1-8.ESV

Here our Lord on his way back to Jerusalem stops off in Bethany to stop of with Lazarus whom he had raise from the dead to spend some time with friends and decipels before facing what was waiting for him in Jerusalem.
Here we see Mary's great love for the master by anointing with nard and wiping his feet with her hair but Judas out of self interest said that the ointment should have bean sold this so he could help himself to the procedes.
But Jesus puts him right and again indicates what was soon to take place.

Hi
Moving on

When the large crowd of the Jews learned that Jesus was there, they came, not only on account of him but also to see Lazarus, whom he had raised from the dead. So the chief priests made plans to put Lazarus to death as well, because on account of him many of the Jews were going away and believing in Jesus.
John 12:9-‬11 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/jhn.12.9-11.ESV

There were many that believed in Jesus after he had raised Lazarus from the dead and came out to see him looking for proof bit like today many want proof they will not believe the witness statements we have in scripture.
Gods word is the truth and we must believe it.
The chief priests weren't happy and began to make plans to kill Lazarus strange they had plenty of witnesses to testify to the fact that Jesus had raised him from the dead and still they refused to believe they were blinded to the truth.

Hi
Moving on

The next day the large crowd that had come to the feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem. So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, crying out, ?Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel!? And Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it, just as it is written, ?Fear not, daughter of Zion; behold, your king is coming, sitting on a donkey?s colt!?
John 12:12-‬15 ESV

Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you; righteous and having salvation is he, humble and mounted on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.
Zechariah 9:9 ESV

Here we see the people welcoming our Lord with great joy as prophesied in Zachariah hundreds of years before hard to think that not long after they would be shouting crucify him.
But all things must be fulfilled according to the prophecies in the OT which would be done to the letter.

Love and Peace
