Hi
Moving on

Then Jesus told them plainly, ?Lazarus has died, and for your sake I am glad that I was not there, so that you may believe. But let us go to him.? So Thomas, called the Twin, said to his fellow disciples, ?Let us also go, that we may die with him.?
John 11:14-‬16 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/jhn.11.14-16.ESV

Here our Lord makes it plain that Lazarus was dead not sleeping the reason our Lord had waited was because he knew what he was going to do to raise Lazarus from the dead so that his decipels would believe who he was the Son of God.

Hi
Moving on

17Now when Jesus came, he found that Lazarus had already been in the tomb four days. 18Bethany was near Jerusalem, about two miles off, 19and many of the Jews had come to Martha and Mary to console them concerning their brother. 20So when Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went and met him, but Mary remained seated in the house. 21Martha said to Jesus, ?Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. 22But even now I know that whatever you ask from God, God will give you.? 23Jesus said to her, ?Your brother will rise again.?

Here we see the power of faith Martha had great Faith in what Christ could do he had the power of life over death all things from the Father Christs faith was 100% what he asked of the Father the Father would do there was absolutely no doubt in his Mind the Father would grant his every wish.

Hi
Moving on

Jesus said to her, ?I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?? She said to him, ?Yes, Lord; I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who is coming into the world.?
John 11:25-‬27 ESV

Some of the most wonderful words in scripture strait from the mouth of our Lord Martha's answer should be the answer of all believers without any doubting 100% faith is what we must have.
Jesus Christ is the Messiah the son of God and we must believe this and everything he said.

Hi
Moving on

When she had said this, she went and called her sister Mary, saying in private, ?The Teacher is here and is calling for you.? And when she heard it, she rose quickly and went to him. Now Jesus had not yet come into the village, but was still in the place where Martha had met him. When the Jews who were with her in the house, consoling her, saw Mary rise quickly and go out, they followed her, supposing that she was going to the tomb to weep there. Now when Mary came to where Jesus was and saw him, she fell at his feet, saying to him, ?Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.? When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in his spirit and greatly troubled. And he said, ?Where have you laid him?? They said to him, ?Lord, come and see.? So the Jews said, ?See how he loved him!? But some of them said, ?Could not he who opened the eyes of the blind man also have kept this man from dying??
John 11:28-‬34, ‬36-‬37 ESV

Rather a large section but fairly self explanatory what we do know is that Jesus had waited until Lazarus was well and truly dead so that he could show the power and the glory of God for there was still those who doubted the power of God through Jesus Christ.

Hi
Moving on

Then Jesus, deeply moved again, came to the tomb. It was a cave, and a stone lay against it. Jesus said, ?Take away the stone.? Martha, the sister of the dead man, said to him, ?Lord, by this time there will be an odor, for he has been dead four days.? Jesus said to her, ?Did I not tell you that if you believed you would see the glory of God??
John 11:38-‬40 ESV

The most important thing we see here is what Jesus said to Martha if you believe yes if we want God to hear our prayer we must believe without doubting.

Hi
Moving on

So they took away the stone. And Jesus lifted up his eyes and said, ?Father, I thank you that you have heard me. I knew that you always hear me, but I said this on account of the people standing around, that they may believe that you sent me.? When he had said these things, he cried out with a loud voice, ?Lazarus, come out.? The man who had died came out, his hands and feet bound with linen strips, and his face wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, ?Unbind him, and let him go.?
John 11:41-‬44 ESV

Interesting to note that the power to do miricals comes from the Father Christ is the channel for that power and he said these things so that the people standing there would realise  that it was the Father who had sent him.
And Lazarus came out of the tomb alive and all those who are in Christ will be raised up on the last day to the glory of God the Father.

Hi

Many of the Jews therefore, who had come with Mary and had seen what he did, believed in him, but some of them went to the Pharisees and told them what Jesus had done. So the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered the council and said, ?What are we to do? For this man performs many signs.
John 11:45-‬47 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/jhn.11.45-47.ESV

There was those who believed who took it on face value what Jesus had done could only have come from God.
Then there were those who preferred to believe what man said instead of what God said and did, bit like today with all these denominations saying different things and people believing what men say and not what God word says so lets get back to what the scripture says and believe it.

Just browsing this and it occurred to me.
The pharasees had a big problem. Even from the abreviated life of Jesus we have in the gospels there are many people healed, miracles done that could not be explained away.
Jesus called them signs because they pointed out who he was.

If one has eaten and drunk fod created by a miracle, seen the blind see, lame walk, deaf to hear and as here the dead raised.
How does one reconcile ones unbelief?
John 9 the man born blind, he got it, Mary and Martha both knew it, but the pharees?

Like today people will not believe based on evidence, they like the pharsees prefer the comfort of the life they know, change is difficult.
Yet what evidence do they have for not changing and believing.

An america site I like. 'Wintery Knight', sometimes post discussions he's had with non christians and a comment he makes:-
" You can believe what you like, so long as you have a rational explanation for it!"
His sub point is only Christianity is rational.
