Hi
Moving on

He who is a hired hand and not a shepherd, who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. He flees because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep. I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me,
John 10:12-‬14 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/jhn.10.12-14.ESV

Who is the hired hand is it Israel who had through all there history had not followed the commands of God but had gone their own way.
But  our Lord is the true shepherd he would never abandon his sheep who are those who believe in him even those who are from Israel not forgetting all Israel will be saved the good shepherd will make absolutely sure that all his sheep will be saved.

Love and Peace

Hi
Moving on

just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep. And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd.
John 10:15-‬16 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/jhn.10.15-16.ESV

So our Lord knows the Father and the and the Father knows the son and both are in agreement and the son is obedient to the Father and it is the Father that has sent the son into the world to die for the sins of the world and here we se our Lords willingness to obey the Father by laying down his life for his sheep.
There are two flocks of sheep one is Israel the other is the Gentiles but they will both be brought together in the end times and there will be one flock.

Hi
Moving on

For this reason the Father loves me, because I lay down my life that I may take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This charge I have received from my Father.?
John 10:17-‬18 ESV

This is a very interesting section here our Lord states that he will lay down his life no one will take it but he lays it down and we know this from his trial he opened not his mouth but of his own freewill went to the cross and went to the most horrible death imaginable but thanks be to God he was raised up on the third day and through his blood we have the forgiveness of sins.

Hi
Moving on

There was again a division among the Jews because of these words. Many of them said, ?He has a demon, and is insane; why listen to him?? Others said, ?These are not the words of one who is oppressed by a demon. Can a demon open the eyes of the blind??
John 10:19-‬21 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/jhn.10.19-21.ESV

Here again we see there were those who did not believe as there will always will be we have no end of witnesses to his miricals and the things he said and still there are those who will not believe they always want something more they never have enough.
Its a question of believing the whole of the bible all the miracles all the prophecies all the words of God many of them have come true and the rest will come true.

Yes agree the law of God shows the difference between good and evil.

Although the law does not justify anyone because it's not possible for anyone to earn their salvation. All of us have broken the law, except for Jesus. He taught them to show them their own shortcomings and need for Him

Interesting that Jesus came to fulfill the law, by replacing with grace that complies to the law. Grace is complied to out of desire, in a new nature of love in Christ, and not out of necessity. For Jesus paid the price.

The law serves a purpose to provide the knowledge of sin and the law shows the harmony of living in love, from God.

To not steal and not worship idols, etc is the law in loving God and our neighbours etc

To love our enemies is more fulfilment , through the power and grace of God.

Hi Primrose
Thank you for your post a good read as for the law given to Israel when it was given to them they became the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
If you would like to explore this subject you could start a new thread.

Hi
Moving on

Quote
At that time the Feast of Dedication took place at Jerusalem. It was winter, and Jesus was walking in the temple, in the colonnade of Solomon. So the Jews gathered around him and said to him, ?How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.?
John 10:22-‬24 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/jhn.10.22-24.ESV

Here we have the our Lord in the temple and again the Jews again are asking him to proove who he is although he had given many proofs  they would not believe.

Joh 9:39 And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind

Those who see not are the Gentiles they had not received the word of God the ones that see is Israel they had received the law and all the words of God they had no excuse interesting to note that they were to be made blind this was nessarsery so they could sacrifice our Lord to fulfill the scriptures the lamb of God had to be sacrificed for the sins of the world and it was only Israel who could do it.

Love and Peace
