Hi
Moving on

So Jesus proclaimed, as he taught in the temple, ?You know me, and you know where I come from. But I have not come of my own accord. He who sent me is true, and him you do not know. I know him, for I come from him, and he sent me.?
John 7:28-‬29 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/jhn.7.28-29.ESV

The people thought they knew where Jesus came from but what they did not know was he came from our heavenly Father he was sent by him according to all the prophecies of the OT of which there are a considerable amount.
The people had all this evidence but still there were many who did not believe as it is today there are many who refuse to believe the evidence of the scriptures.

Jesus said to him, ?Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.?
John 20:29 ESV

Hi
Moving on

So they were seeking to arrest him, but no one laid a hand on him, because his hour had not yet come. Yet many of the people believed in him. They said, ?When the Christ appears, will he do more signs than this man has done??
John 7:30-‬31 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/jhn.7.30-31.ESV

No-one layed a hand on Jesus everything had to go according to Gods plan.
But there were many who had began to believe in him that he was the son of God they were beginning to believe that no ordenary man could do the thing Christ was doing he had to be the son of God sent into the world.
We today cannot see these miricals but we do have eye witnesses who testify to them so make sure we believe what they say which proves the fact that Jesus Christ is the son of God.

Hi
Moving on

The Pharisees heard the crowd muttering these things about him, and the chief priests and Pharisees sent officers to arrest him. Jesus then said, ?I will be with you a little longer, and then I am going to him who sent me. You will seek me and you will not find me. Where I am you cannot come.?
John 7:32-‬34 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/jhn.7.32-34.ESV

Again they did not arrest him they could not lay hands on him his time had not yet come and he was going away to a place they could not come of course he was speaking of returning to heaven to sit on the righthand of God.
This would be after his death and resurrection he knew every step of the path he had to tread what ģreat love he had for us sinners let us not reject that great Love.

Hi
Moving on

The Jews said to one another, ?Where does this man intend to go that we will not find him? Does he intend to go to the Dispersion among the Greeks and teach the Greeks? What does he mean by saying, ?You will seek me and you will not find me,? and, ?Where I am you cannot come???
John 7:35-‬36 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/jhn.7.35-36.ESV

Here we see the people having trouble understanding what our Lord was saying what he was saying was in a very short period of time he would be taken from them and return to where he came from heaven.
They had still not grasped the fact he was the son of God and would return to the Father from whence he came.

Hi
Moving on

On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, ?If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ?Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.?? Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
John 7:37-‬39 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/jhn.7.37-39.ESV

Here our Lord tells us what the living waters are the he would give the HolySpirit this would be given after his death and resurrection although the spirit has always existed it had not been given as an indwelling spirit.
It had spoken through the OT prophets but had not been given as an indwelling spirit.
But now it has been given to all those who believe and it will over flow to others ti was given when our Lord ascended into heaven and it has been expanding ever since until it fills the whole world.

Love and Peace

Hi
Moving on

When they heard these words, some of the people said, ?This really is the Prophet.? Others said, ?This is the Christ.? But some said, ?Is the Christ to come from Galilee? Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the offspring of David, and comes from Bethlehem, the village where David was?? So there was a division among the people over him. Some of them wanted to arrest him, but no one laid hands on him.
John 7:40-‬44 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/jhn.7.40-44.ESV

So the people were divided they were listening to what men said and not what God had said Christ was born in Bethlehem they needed to find out before making judgement.
Its a bit like today most of us listen to what men tells us what the scriptures say but very rarely read it ourselves the only thing we can rely on is Gods word so lets make sure we check everything men say against the scriptures.

Hi
Moving on

The officers then came to the chief priests and Pharisees, who said to them, ?Why did you not bring him?? The officers answered, ?No one ever spoke like this man!? The Pharisees answered them, ?Have you also been deceived? Have any of the authorities or the Pharisees believed in him? But this crowd that does not know the law is accursed.? Nicodemus, who had gone to him before, and who was one of them, said to them, ?Does our law judge a man without first giving him a hearing and learning what he does?? They replied, ?Are you from Galilee too? Search and see that no prophet arises from Galilee.? [The earliest manuscripts do not include 7:53?8:11.]
John 7:45-‬52 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/jhn.7.45-52.ESV

The officers sent to arrest Jesus could not do it it was not part of Gods plan the time had not yet come.

For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:
Ecclesiastes 3:1 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/ecc.3.1.ESV

Plus they had heard him speak and it had moved them the were not sure what to believe but the Pharisees and priest would not believe they were stuck in there ways and were sticking to their interpretation of the law what they failed to realise was the law and the prophets were about Christ if they had dug a little deeper they would have found out that Jesus did come from Bethlehem according to the scriptures in fact he would fulfil every prophecy of the OT to the letter.

Hi
Moving on

but Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. Early in the morning he came again to the temple. All the people came to him, and he sat down and taught them. The scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in adultery, and placing her in the midst they said to him, ?Teacher, this woman has been caught in the act of adultery. Now in the Law, Moses commanded us to stone such women. So what do you say?? This they said to test him, that they might have some charge to bring against him. Jesus bent down and wrote with his finger on the ground. And as they continued to ask him, he stood up and said to them, ?Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her.?
John 8:1-‬7 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/jhn.8.1-7.ESV

Here we see the Pharisees trying to catch our Lord out so he tells them whoever is without sin to cast the first stone of course they were all sinners so they could not cast a stone.
But there was one there who was without sin Jesus plus he was the stone the builders rejected that became the cornerstone so was the stone he cast himself to stone her to death through baptism if she were to repent.

Which makes one wonder how we should look at the law we know that we can keep the law through love to love God and love our neighbours so should we consider the law in a different light.

Love and Peace
